Are these "The news team you can trust"
promos new? I'm just seeing them during the Oscars. It's seems odd and small market for
the number one station in the number one
market.
Haven't seen the promo you are referring to but WABC has used that tagline for years. And stations in New York have used similar promos...

Well GMA gets the last laugh because while everyone was saying Michael would fail, Billy's the one without a job and the Today Show is the one missing a 3rd hour host now. I'm interested to see who, if anyone, replaces Billy.

Ryan Field of FOX Sports has been named lead sports anchor at WABC, according to twitter accounts belonging to ABC7NY, Field and news anchor Bill Ritter.
Here's his FOX bio:
A bit disappointed Laura didn't get the gig but seems like a good add for WABC.

I gotta give credit where credit is due... The View this season is a really great program. I now is a good time if Whoopi is ready to go, Joy should be able to hold the fort down with Candace, Sara, Sunny and Jedediah. Paula is frankly a hot mess, not mean for a show like The View and she's gotta go, Raven is good as it seems she's on once a week (Fridays). It may be the election coverage but the program is really entertaining and thought provoking again.

On a related note, he's still pretty awful as pretend-news anchor for GMA. I really hope they act quickly to fix this.
Can you please stop posting your distaste for Michael every few days. You said the same thing on Monday, it gets old to read.

ABC was down double digits from last year and only 69,000 viewers separated Good Morning America from TODAY while NBC held a 20% lead in the news demo. Good Morning America is in trouble and Strahan is adding to their problems.
That's also only the second week out of the Olympics. Don't get me wrong ABC has a problem it needs to fix, primarily the demo, but all your doing is really hyperbolizing the situation.

I watched yesterday morning and I thought it was decent. I think give them some time to work out the kinks and it could work well. I give them credit, the first hour is MUCH better than it's been for the past two years, hopefully they keep the newsier first hour after the election ends.
I'm interested to see what Lara's role is when she returns. My guess is she'll still have a big presence in the second hour with Michael. I wonder if as "co-anchor" she'll sit next to George when the show opens, when she gets back or if it'll just be Robin, George and Michael.
Also, if you ask me, I think Amy would be a great replacement eventually for Robin (whenever she does decide to leave, be it in 20 years...). If you ask me, Amy is a great anchor at ABC, and she's improved so much since she joined the network.

Everyone's acting appalled and surprised but is this not what we've been expecting for a while now?

...They'd probably ditch View, Chew and GH for games.
The Chew has been doing very well, I definitely don't see them canceling it anytime soon. General Hospital... it is a soap and so of course everyone will say to cancel it but it also does very well and I don't see them canceling it right now... maybe down the road.

At the start of the 7:30am half hour today, George announced that they would be broadcasting even more news in the half hour.
GMA is serious, I'm curious to see what they do come fall 2016.

Daily Mail reporting:
- Candace, Raven and Michelle will all leave the show before the current season ends in August.
- Whoopi signed a one-year contract worth $2.5 million
- Whoopi will continue her 4-day schedule; Friday shows will be live, and moderated by Joy
- Paula will stay on
- Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines are expected to permanently join the panel for next season
Now that sounds like a good panel. Looking forward to Raven and Michele's departures. I do enjoy Candace on the show though and i'll miss her on it.

I doubt ABC hired Paula because she was a conservative, born-again Christian.
I'm sure she was, I'm sure ABC knew what they were doing when they added Paula.
Not to mention that Paula touts as being the "journalist" of the panel that tries to provide an unbiased perspective to things, yet, it's very evident what/where her biases are. I'm not saying she should be taken off The View for that, however, if she wants to use the conservative, Christian card, then she should not be allowed to reference herself as the journalist of the panel.By those same standards, Barbra Walters shouldn't be considered a journalist either... but I'm sure everyone would disagree and be up in arms with that.
-
I think we can say for sure that Candace and Joy will be back next year. Raven, Michele and Whoopi are all candidates to be dropped. Paula could be dropped but if they are going to drop the three I just mentioned, they may not want to make it four.
I think a panel of Joy (moderator), Candace, Sunny Hostin, Paula (connects very well with Sunny) and one other would be very good.

Is Thomas Roberts going to be Lester's fill in anchor during the weekdays. I respect Thomas Roberts, good presentation but they need to be careful with how they push him as well, ever since Lester took over, everybody is trying to be get their name out there for demographics and become the first so on. What made Lester Holt good is that he never had an agenda or wanted to push anything towards people which is one factors in why people trust him. Cause anytime you go on national news anchoring a major broadcast, the vetting needs to go up to avoid another Brian Williams mistake. He is gay but his sexuality is not the main issue it is how he will use his platforming and hopefully him being gay won't make him someone pushing an agenda. He is fine on cable news but evening news anchor is the top tier job in that industry. Evening news anchor is broadcasted to wide variety of people with and viewers want an evening news anchor as someone who has no agenda and overall very neutral. If they need a second tier fill in then focus on Kate Snow cause she has no agenda from what I have seen and has been there longer.
You should really get with the times. This comes off as ignorant and homophobic.

Well its official Rob Powers is heading back home to Cleveland:

That's a shame. Rob is really great and I will personally miss him very much on WABC.

Looks like no one has posted it here yet... but 10 has quietly and recently launched "NBC 10 Responds". They apparently handle consumer complaints and it's an arm of the NBC 10 Investigators, headed by Hairston.
That's identical to WNBC's "Better Get Baquero."

They wouldn't have forced her to pack up her family and move across the country
They absolutely would. Not saying they did but they absolutely would if they wanted to.
Even so Natalie was not pushed out.Based on what? Your gut feeling?
-
But again why would you need to put them up there on a public site to share them internally?
Well...
Because it's easier to post them "publicly" and share them internally than it is to privatize them and add an extra step to viewing the thing. By the time people on here find them, they're probably not needed anymore and they get yanked offline. And look at that, yanked offline.

This PR is definitely not turning out well. Dumb on Bob Iger's part to keep this from Kelly and the "Live" staff.
That said, I still think Michael will fit in very well at GMA, he already has such great chemistry with the team and it will only grow stronger with him there 5 days a week.

George has been filling in for David this week. Interesting... they usually go with Tom, Amy or Cecilia.
-
I could see Michael taking on Pop News and doing more of the fluffy stuff while Lara takes on more serious news in an attempt by ABC to add a male to the mix and also maybe improve on Lara's image as a more newsy anchor.
-
It'll be interesting to see who they go with for the 4pm. They have Ravi, Rob and Hosea all as prime targets for the 4pm.
Also, will Alan continue at 6?Yes, it'll be Alan & Kathy at 6 & 10 and Cheryl and Alan at 5pm.

And I was saying perhaps it was a way to keep Kala & Craig on the anchor desk
Kala & Craig just got the weekend job, I doubt they were going anywhere.

Hopefully this is just an April Fools Joke
http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/4/1/wabc-sports-anchor-heading-to-cleveland-for-news
If this does happen, I wouldn't be surprised if he returns to WABC at some point after he gets more news experience at WEWS.

"Apparently, the woman complained to CNBC executives that Matthews made inappropriate jokes and comments about her in front of others, that the matter was looked into and it was determined that the comments were inappropriate and in made in poor taste, but were never meant as propositions."

“In 1999 this matter was thoroughly reviewed and dealt with. At that time Matthews received a formal reprimand,” an MSNBC spokesperson told the parent company in an email on Saturday.
