Jeff Hogan is leaving WRAL-TV to head back home to WBNS 10TV Columbus.

At the same time, Chris Lovingood will now do mornings with Renee Chou from 5-8 a.m.

Jeff Hogan teaming up with Yolanda Harris makes good business sense, because Jeff had been on 10TV since the late 90s.  Good move to 10TV.

Day 1 of the then-new WTHR Channel 13 Eyewitness News. New set (developed by Devlin Design Group), new music, new graphics, new name (the second stint), new logo, new everything.

The first 90 minutes of WTHR's then-new era are here from Monday, May 8th, 1995:

WBNS would get their set developed by Devlin Design Group 90s set a year prior in 1994.  The Wolfe's had the money to spend for both stations.

Leon was never really a ratings draw, but WUSA9 also never really made many smart decisions either, so who knows?

    Can he one man band???

TEGNA seems to be cash poor. Can they afford him?

Its not a good look when you replace someone who spent 20+ years at the station (Toya Washington) only for the replacement to suddenly leave after just 3 years (Kristen Pierce).

I'm sorry to say this but WISN did Toya dirty. They should've given her more roles, including at 4pm, and the fact they never did or given her the 10pm on top of the 5pm, it makes them look dirty.

I still like WISN 12 but something like this just makes you take a second look at them.

Toya Washington, did a podcast interview awhile back and she talked about being burned out and she got off the 10pm back in 2011 for part-time for her family. I remember she wanted to do just the 5pm for family reason, and left the job to be a mom with her kids and her husband schedule too.  She's teaching now, but there the article and podcast to check out.

Gray has conflicts in Atlanta and charlotte. Nexstar conflict in Dayton

Any chance Hearst jumps on this? Good chance to get some pretty good assets…conflicts in Boston, Pittsburgh, and Orlando would need to be divested, but that should be easy.

It would be ideal for Hearst. Big sigh!

They really need to have a consistent Monday-Friday schedule. The inconsistency only serves to confuse viewers. If Rachael wants to work a one day a week schedule, let it be on Sunday night.

She getting paid $25Million and you think she will settled in on Sunday night spot? She has a contract that lets her do what she wants at $25Million. If you had that big contract would you want to do a Sunday Night Show instead of Mondays only after The President first 100 days?

Longtime reporter and sometimes anchor on the weekends Sean Ley is out at WDIV. He had been there quite awhile.

Meanwhile WXYZ has added Demetrios Sanders as a reporter. He comes from WOOD in Grand Rapids.

Wonder if he will follow his ex-wife Sandra Ali over to CBS Detroit.

I liked 99.9% of what I saw. Didn’t love the live shot of the anchors during the commercial (and world temps); but this is a work in progress so I won’t nitpick too much.

Loved the lack of political news and used of the video walls. Worth-noting is that both Nightly and World News lead with the ICE raids and Evening News lead with a story (AI threat) that viewers likely would have never heard about.

Overall, great start and hopefully viewers (and others) take note because this is how a nightly network newscast should be done.

Sounds like the same comments that were sent into FTVLIVE.com about certain stories.

So in a month, WSYX has lost its anchors and The bench is not that deep for WSYX either. Yikes we are heading back to the revolving door of the early 2000's at WSYX!

That door been revolving for years even before the early 2000s.

Could she pull a Yolanda Harris or Jerry Martz and end up at 10TV?

But as long as they keep ramming the Buckeyes down the viewer's throats, they'll be fine.  This is Sinclair's crown jewel thanks to the fortunes of the rest of the market.

NBC 4 has some hope but 10TV has sadly past the point of no return.

With election season behind us, some of the bold and innovative newscasts local stations eagerly announced are starting to be cut.

For example, WISN is dropping their 9 p.m. newscast on their True Crime subchannel… a smart move, considering the newscast seemed like a misallocation of time and resources.

Considering it's otherwise a channel in the 180s or 990s far away from the regular stations, it's in standard def and as I said, its lead-ins and lead-outs were very inconsistent and it also disrupted that hour of programming (on Friday nights you just got dumped into the middle of a Dateline episode), it was uphill. I assume they kept the show on so long because it was a case of 'we have the folks here' in the past, but with Derek Rose's role expanding earlier in the day and all of their personnel changes this year it was getting harder to keep on, along with the November swoon once the political ads ended.

With WISN 12 doing a 9pm wasn't a "Hearst Thing" ? WBAL & WCVB did a 10pm with their METV stations. I wonder if those and other Hearst stations that are doing

    those 9pm/10pm will follow suit?

  12. Can anyone explain the two largest cities in Texas? Dallas-Ft.Worth #4, but Houston #6.  I had to look it up, but Houston's population is bigger than Dallas. Is the Dallas market bigger than Houston because of

    Dallas & Ft. Worth together?

It doesn't say the official reason here, but I think we all know why, based on timing: He is becoming the replacement for soon-to-be retiring anchor Devin Scillian at WDIV.
