  1. What about Sharon Reed? Philly is her hometown, and she once worked at NBC10. She has left CBS46. Could she be in-line for the 5 pm job or am I'm grasping at straws?
  2. According to FTVLIVE.com Jeffrey Adam Zucker took several CNN on-air talent to breakfast to bitch about the ratings. The pushback was maybe the audience is tired of hearing about Trump. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2019/5/23/exclusive-jeff-zucker-takes-cnn-anchors-to-breakfast
  3. I don't see Jim retiring from Action News. He will die doing the news. Rick Williams will be waiting for some time. Do you think Lucy will get the 5 pm anchor job at WPVI?
  4. He does well in the investigation area, but he not lead material anchor. Irika, I think she just a news reader. Idk if she did any reporting at WFOR. There always the one that just read the news & those that are versatile as anchor/reporter. I wonder if the station would let her do any legal material since she has a law degree in her background.
  5. R.I.P. Doug Adair he & Mona took NewsWatch 4 to #1...Got to meet him, and he was a genuinely nice man..
  6. But this is WGCL/CBS46, but house money on Shon Gables will get the job over Tracey.
  7. ABC33/40- Sept 1, 1997 -1 year after signing on as the new ABC affiliate.
  8. CNN: Crime Reporting on Local news 1995
  9. WKYC-TEGNA style WXIA-TEGNA style WKEF-ABC22
  10. Don't forget WJZ in Baltimore. They just got a new set after 20 years. Many of their staff retired and the young ones have moved on to other markets.
  11. Kirk Varner news director of WSPA moves to KSTP as new ND.
  12. To do what? They have a heavy bench and once Nexstar gets their greedy hands it will cut, cut, cut. Maybe he could go back to ABC7. Don't know if there's room at NBC5 or FOX32. I see once Nexstar deal is done at WGN if FOX plays their hand right. They would snag many WGN talent at FOX32 to win and beat WGN.
  13. It's nice there no doubt about that and viewers said they liked it except the music ding during every story a graphics changes. Some said it was too computer-ish, others thought it was annoying. I will say I like the "6" logo blue over white. The flag is in the background, and down in Cincy since they're a runnaway#1 Sinclair not going to mess with them.
  14. Yes, WSYX has languished in 3rd place, but when it moved #2 many times during the 70s & 80s and recently a few years ago. If you go back and look at many newscasts in many markets the graphics package and sets were not so stellar. Looking at WLS in Chicago in the late 80s & 90s had a horrible set and package, but were #1. In the mid-90s WSYX graphics were solid 90s graphics not flashy or over the top. Yes, the whole set, graphics, music is all apart of the package of the newscast. However, your newscast is the selling point. Yes, WSYX has evolved, but I wouldn't say it the best in their history. It Sinclair cookie cutter image, so it nice but wouldn't say it all that. I'm sure they may come up with a new package in two years that could even be more greater than today.
  15. Different graphics during a different era in time during the station history.
