  1. Changes from one Sinclair station to another. Bill Kelly the Chief Meteorologist at WSYX/ABC 6 On Your Side in Columbus, OH moves to become Chief Meteorologist at WJLA/ABC 7 in D.C. Many folks have left WSYX, and the beat continues..... http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/8/30/moving-to-dc
  2. Katy Tur seems like a nice girl to hang out with. I'm sure she hangs out with Kassie Hunt and Hallie Jackson, but the difference between those gals is Katy, can't read a teleprompter, but she's a good reporter.
  3. OUT: Raycom moving its digital hub from Montgomery to Atlanta http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/8/3/raycom-to-move-hub-to-atlanta
  4. Stupid move on 11Alive this is where CBS46 should go ahead and move that needle to third place and move 11ALIVE to 4th place.
  5. You sure it not just competition? Many anchors, ep and management do all jump to the competition to do the same job.

  7. Sounds like they want Thomas to go, because everybody getting an opening except him.
  8. Ohio not really a red state it more purple, because it swings back in forth red, blue, red, blue. Yes, my home state is a swinger state so to speak!
  9. until somebody else takes over the job. It seems like being a news director at both WOIO/CBS 19 & WGCL/CBS46 should come with a warning sign. DANGER! Do This Job At Your Own Risk!
  10. If the Sinclair/Tribune deal doesn't go through than it a great day in America. However, if it does goes through SMH-Hmmm. Sinclair has gobbled up many other broadcast groups, so them getting #1 stations in many markets are sitting them pretty i.e. Cincinnati/WKRC, SLC/KUTV. Management at SLC/KUTV had gone on the record saying that Sinclair execs told them; Whatever you're doing continue to keep doing it, and we'll support you yadda, yadda, yadda. I think in FOX 8 case not much changes will come down the pike. I do wonder if Gabe Spiegel will have a job he did work at WSYX in Columbus. (I hope he jumps to WKYC if that be the case.) Scripps has dogged out it two big legacy stations WEWS & WXYZ both are a shell of its former self. That WEWS logo alone makes them look like market 204. Scripps probably wants to sell there been some talk on other sites, but nothing written in stone. I think they're clueless at Scripps. 5 will continue to sink and change personalities, management. 19 will do the same, but 19 product will continue to outshine 5; which is sad. That like WGCL picking themselves up and over powering WSB in Atlanta.
  11. oooh not Snoozefest 19. Sad part is 19 starting to look better than 5 in news coverage. WEWS has gone to the dogs, and it even sad when 19 starts to become the gold standard over 5. 8 continues to lead.

  14. I wonder if Scipps is pushing them out at TV5.
  15. WNAC: Newsroom7 (WHDH)
  16. Maybe it was because her show sucked, and no thought or planning was involved in her show. It was like hey NBC has Greta, and we can just throw a show on and people will watch at 6 pm. I agree she was up against a lot of stiff competition, but her show sucked from day one it aired.

  22. Pat Lawson-Muse is not anchoring the 4pm? I always think WRC has been making slow changes, and it does seem they're setting the stage with the next generation. There's anchor bench on Channel 4 where they have many iconic anchors.

  25. Out: KOTV6/Tulsa--Scott Thompson http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/5/25/gone-in-tulsa From Newsblues 5.25.17 ANOTHER BOSTON POWER PLAY? An anonymous tipster reports that Ion Media has agreed to sellWBPX-32 in Boston (Market #9) to the ABC Owned Television Stations Group in a deal that could lead to Hearst's WCVB-5-ABC in Boston, and Hearst's WMUR-9-ABC in Manchester, NH, eventually losing their ABC affiliation. WBPX is simulcast on two full-power satellites: WPXG-TV(virtual channel 21, digital channel 33) in Concord, New Hampshire and WDPX-TV (virtual channel 58, digital channel 40) in Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts; and two low-power translator stations: WMPX-LP (channel 33) and W40BO in Boston. WDPX, the Martha's Vineyard-based repeater of WBPX, was sold at the recent FCC auction for $43.5 million. According to the tipster, ABC hopes to take over the Ion stations in September. "ABC is expected to sign a purchase agreement for a studio/office complex in suburban Boston within a day or two and will immediately start work to convert it into offices, a newsroom/studio, and a second studio for other local programs and commercials, as well as hiring a full staff, including a news staff of 80-90 persons." If true, the ABC scenario would echo NBC's recent power play in Boston in which Sunbeam's WHDH-7 was stripped of its network affiliation. We have been unable to confirm the anonymous report.
