  1. How do you feel about Kaley coming to Texas and Karen moving to mornings? Word is it wasn't her idea? She been the face of 11 for a long time?
  2. So it been stated that Martha going over to rival WFTV/Channel 9. So what would her job be at WFTV? Martie and Vanessa do the evening shows, so where would they place her at? Does anybody think Vanessa or Martie's days number at WFTV? Remember when they push Marla Weech off for Martie Salt? Could this be the same storyline for Channel 9???
  3. To me Bill Bonds/Diana Lewis were the John Pruitt/ Monica Pearson(Kaufman) in Atlanta the equivalent. Others would be Ron Magers as well too. Tracey Rowlett, Chip Moody would be on the same lines.
  4. Growing up my grandparents would watch Bill (Billy) Bonds at 5PM with Robbie Timmons and come back at 11pm for the Update then with Dayna Eubanks. In 1988, Diana Lewis would return from KABC to come back to WXYZ. Dayna would go down the street to WJBK-TV2. The Update at 11 with Bill Bonds and Diana Lewis and Detroit's first news team. That man was one of the greats in television local news and he just did it right. It so sad to hear this news, but he read 8 Newspapers from the former GM, and somebody else said they saw him read 5 Newspapers. It really a end of an era, and everyone who wanted to be in news wanted to be like Bill Bonds and work at Channel 7. So many people at Broadcast House walked and worked in his shadow; Rich Fisher Guy Gordon Doris Biscoe Dayna Eubanks Diana Lewis Robbie Timmons Jerry Hodak Erik Smith Mike Holfield Frank Turner Don Lark
  5. One of the most revered names is the business is going to WGCL/CBS 46...Mark Pimentel going to be the new VP/GM at GCL. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvspy/mark-pimentel-named-vpgm-at-wgcl_b136063
  6. Sinclair's /KNSV- Cuts Nightly Political Show: The station was news heavy, but seems like Sinclair gutting alot of shows, and do wonder if Sinclair plan to buy any syndication shows? Days of Our Lives will probably go back at 1pm on 3. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvspy/its-been-the-best-14-years-of-my-career-ksnv-cuts-nightly-politics-show_b135310 http://www.reviewjournal.com/entertainment/tv/vegas-political-chat-show-ralston-reports-end
  7. Sinclair bringing local news back to St. Louis ABC 30- http://www.mediabistro.com/tvspy/st-louis-abc-affiliate-to-launch-non-traditional-newscast_b134941 http://www.stltoday.com/entertainment/television/gail-pennington/kdnl-will-launch-non-traditional-newscast-in-january/article_063117bd-780b-5c58-9302-d01167353510.html
  8. It be nice if Paul Ossmann would get the top job to be weather anchor for CBS 46 he would add a face that familiar in the market. After working at WAGA & WXIA.
  9. I mean one would think that because WOAI/4 the more established station would get the preferential treatment over KABB. I hate that these two have to combine because 4 needed some better owners Raycom or Media General would of been a great fit for them. FOX 29 was growing in different areas, but what that market didn't need was a combo station that Sinclair just love. WOAI/KMOL have suffer for so long that once they merge I'm sure Sinclair will invest in the station, but I do hope Randy Beamer will still be the mainstay at Channel 4 he's the face of that stations brand. However I always felt both KENS & KSAT both had the better newscast in San Antonio market, where KSAT is flashy, where KENS was more laid back.
  10. Mark Hayes joins NBC Cincinnati/ WLWT-TV5 as their new morning anchor starting next Monday 9/22. http://www.wlwt.com/news/mark-hayes-joins-wlwts-news-5-today/27981570
  11. Comedian Bill Bellmany from MTV Beach House in the 90s and made many movies will become the new host of Scripps' Let Ask America. http://www.cincinnati.com/story/tvandmediablog/2014/07/29/bill-bellamy-kevin-pereira-lets-ask-america-scripps-mtv-bet/13323773/
  12. This isn't the first time the Wolfes' play this hardball with talent, and the problem has been since it a family owned entity they can play these games. Usually when they kick you off the air they have the standard 6 month non-compete clause, but they don't want the competition to snag their talent.
  13. It no surprise that Sinclair would buy Channel 3 in Vegas, and I'm sure they made an offer. Let see what the week holds, because the articles will start flying left and right.
  14. Here a closing clip to see the whole set as the camera pans away... To be honest this was a let down on WDIV with the set/logo. I expect more than this plain Jane.
  15. WXIA/Atlanta: 11Alive's News Director Ellen Crooke has been named VP of News for Gannett. She worked at alot of local stations, and I personally thought this would fit for her. Remember she said local news stink, and she has alot of work with a company that owns almost 50 stations...That a lot of stinky news that needs to be cleaned up. KTUL/Tulsa: Weekend Anchor Yvonne Lewis is leaving the ABC affiliate after 28 years. Sometime in September she'll leave. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvspy/
  16. Paige Kelton won't be leaving Action News on CBS47/FOX 30. She'll be staying, but moving into management as "special projects mananger." http://flnewscenter.com/?p=8536 http://www.mediabistro.com/tvspy/jacksonville-anchor-reportedly-fired-gets-promoted_b127071
  17. Here in Columbus, OH aires; Jeopardy 7pm/ Wheel 7:30pm along with Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, NYC, Raleigh-Durham, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Growing up it was always Wheel at 7/ Jeopardy 7:30. I know WDIV has alway done that along with Atlanta. In Atlanta the Jeopardy has shuffle from 46WGNX during their indy days, followed by WXIA and before the late 80s/early 90s on WAGA-TV. In 1996 Wheel/Jeopardy moved to WXIA same time, but in 2002 or 2003 WXIA moved Jeopardy at 4:30PM created 7:00 News and Wheel at 7:30. Then they moved Wheel to WATL and Jeopardy at 7:30 on WXIA. Plus more Gannett news " Icahn acquires 6.6% stake in Gannett" http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-08-14/icahn-takes-new-activist-position-in-gannett-backs-split-plan.html
  18. There also going to start a 5pm news as well too, so they finally will have 5-6:30pm broadcast the last station in the market to have an hour-long 5pm news. Starts this fall with their new male co-anchor.
  19. Was on KHOU website today and they have the company website now...
  20. WXIA: Sam Crenshaw out after 16 years as sports anchor http://radiotvtalk.blog.ajc.com/2014/08/01/11alive-lets-go-sam-crenshaw-after-nearly-16-years/
  21. Somebody pass that to WSB-TV/Atlanta there no ABC logo attach to that golden 2...Wish they would go ahead and place the network logo next to the station number.
  22. I agree! I liked the old KGW logo vs the current one. I just hope for the sake of Marty Haag that they will kept the current WFAA logo.
  23. WZZM: Lee Van Ameyde moves off the desk into managing editor and will be replaced by Nick LaFave from KTAL fame. Changes take place in September. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvspy/wzzm-moves-van-ameyde-off-anchor-desk-names-replacement_b125768#more-125768
  24. Kit Andrews from Cincinnati 12WKRC is retiring on July 31.2014 http://www.mediabistro.com/tvspy/longtime-wkrc-anchor-says-shes-leaving_b125528 http://www.cincinnati.com/story/tvandmediablog/2014/07/25/kit-andrews-wkcr-tv-sinclair-broadcast-group-cammy-dierking-rob-braun-wcpo-tv-clyde-gray/13164011/
  25. I agree! They dropped the NewsChannel branding and the "8" logo is not the best. Gannett seems to be getting these bargain basement of logos W*USA, KTHV and Now KGW.
