I'm going to call it official folks. Facebook has approved the name change on the WN profile to "ABC World News Tonight."
-
Their twitter handle will be tricky... First because "@WorldNewsTonight" is too many characters for a twitter handle, and second because it causes verified account issues

I'm calling BS on the 'Walters Building' intro, as it references a time in 2013 when WNDS (sorry, not typing it all) used that intro, but the facility wasn't renamed until this past Spring.
Okay, now this all seems way too nit-picky to be for just a long weekend. It should be noted, however, that the Twitter profile merely dropped Sawyer's name, though I can't confirm that it was tacked on there before...
Would BehindNYNews be interested in changing the thread name? I'm kidding, but I'm kinda not...
They haven't had her name on the twitter profile picture in over a year... So nothing new there... But a Facebook link change is something meant to be permanent ... For regular business pages, you only get one change...

Well folks, sorry about the rapid fire posts, but I'm gaining new info while going around the web... ABC has changed the facebook LINK to world news from "Facebook.com/worldnews" to "Facebook.com/worldnewstonight"
-
Half an hour ago, according to the timestamp on Facebook, ABC changed the profile picture of the World News Facebook page to "World News Tonight"
-
Has anyone else noticed on the ABC News Wikipedia page, under slogans, it has "From ABC News World Headquarters, this is ABC World News with Diane Sawyer" now marked as an old slogan, and it now says "From the Barbara Walters Building, this is ABC World News with David Muir" as the slogan for WN?

Special Report graphics across all three networks have not changed in at least five years... I disliked the World News graphics from the moment they debuted in 2012... Way too flashy and just poorly designed... Looks too much like an entertainment show's graphics. I'll live with the music and the name if the graphics change.

Many people believe that she has no personality and also is incapable of reading a teleprompter... I wouldn't go that far but I can see why people don't like her

Beginning September 8th, Eyewitness News at Noon will be extended to a full hour from 12-1. The Chew will run 1-2, Millionaire 2-2:30, "Daytime Jeopardy" 2:30-3, General Hospital 3-4, then EWN First at Four.

Did they preempt the remainder of GMA? And did any other station do that?

Fox O&Os recently got a new package. (Though, I already think they need a new one). NBC has updated a few markets so WNBC could see the minor update. I really don't think anyone needs an update. I like what we have.
WNBC will likely get the next update, which will just be the refresh that's been previewed in its teases and current KNBC package... WNYW got their last update in late 2012, so it will be a long time for them, considering how long the usual interval is for FOX O&Os... WABC I could see getting an update within the next year, as the current graphics are now the oldest in NYC, and the station has used the three year interval in the past.
-
Is WABC up for possible new graphics this year? It's been 3 years since the last update, which was the amount of time between the last ones and the current ones... Just putting it out there...

RoadCam 7 has a new 360 camera, which can be controlled remotely from the studio... http://t.co/gVvYU8ZmeL

Dari really isn't that bad but it's not really how good WNYW is but how bad WPIX is.
At this point, one of the only flaws I find with the PIX News at 10 is the fact that the station does like 5 weather teases before the 7 day forecast. Otherwise, I find that the PIX news is actually better in terms of content- they focus on New York news and interest stories, while Fox seems to do a lot of national/generic news that the anchors seem not even interested in... And that godawful social media thing that vaguely relates to one of the interest stories... It's just not a comfortable newscast to watch.
-
Everyone keeps hating on WPIX, and while it is not the best news program in New York City, I think it has shifted the focus back to local news stories and local interest stories, rather than Fox 5, which has had a recent tendency to cover a large amount of national interest stories, and, quite frankly, not that much news at all. (That being said, the weather on Fox 5 News at 10 is actually presented twice, as opposed to Pix, where there are like five teases before you can see the seven day forecast...) I think WPIX is definitely showing signs of improvement in programming, but now the newscast structure needs some work.

WHOA! Huge changes at WPIX, reported by Jerry Barmash's "Tuned In:"
-Julie Grauert out
-Lionel out
-Dr. Steve "chose not to renew his contract"

Dan Rice out at Eyewitness News: The exclusive story, reported first by @NYNewser and @Ny_NewsObserver: http://nycstations.weebly.com/1/post/2014/03/exclusive-dan-rice-out-at-eyewitness-news.html

Rob was on again today for the 6pm news.
-
What WNBC does is interesting- they air the first half hour of each hour of TODAY, and then do the second half of storm coverage, then at the top of the hour returns to TODAY.
-
Anyone know what happened with Liz Cho? She was on her normal time at 4 but then when the 6 PM show came on she wasn't there.
She tweeted that she was at some sort of event for her daughter- seemed like a concert.

The 5 & 11 producer posted on Twitter that all the newscasts will debut their new opens tomorrow. And I went over both opens- the current one and the new one- and the voiceover is the same.
-
The new opens look great- they changed the position of the meteorologists, so they are standing in front of the weather center instead of at the weather desk.

Actually, all of the video and photo pages have that as the heading... That design came with the 2007 website
ABC World News Tonight

--- it actually doesn't even work because during the flyby animations, it only shows "World News"
