  1. If you look closely, the red part of the debate graphics (which displayed the person's name) looks like the "tab" which is on the upper left of the lower thirds, which says "breaking news" or on weekends, it displays the date during the headline open... and the blue part of the debate graphics (which says the person's title or organization) is also a tab format from the current package- the blue one actually looks like the graphic they use in the lower left when the video says "courtesy NBC Sports" for a sports report or something... and another thing is that the fonts are exactly the same.

  2. I never questioned your authority or knowledge (or didn't mean to anyway), I am just questioning how the new graphics could be the debate graphics which are so similar to the current package. The font, the shape- everything.

I get that things change constantly, but I really just find it hard to believe that new graphics aren't really a change at all.

  3. All of the ABC O&Os, including WABC, have updated their website video systems, to the same system as their recently updated live streams. Story videos are now in HD, and have closed captioning built in to the player, and can be enabled by clicking on the dialogue box on the lower panel of the video box.

  4.

WABC added a telestrator to their helicopter. Shannon called it Skywriter 7.

They added that about a month ago- all three chopper reporters have been using it and calling it "SkyWriter 7." They use it to point out specifics in a wide pan shot- like to draw attention to a specific car in an accident, etc.

  5. Just saw a WABC station ID that I haven't seen before... seemed similar to what the ID is now, but the might have changed the slogan- this one said "The most watched television station in the nation, you're watching Channel 7. Number one in New York."

  6. That's not a very well done graphic. The animation is basic and not smooth at all. I'm thinking it was done in-house. Would be extremely shocked if that was done by a graphics house.

It's actually similar to the ABC World News graphics- the 3D box package... Looks too intricate to be done in house

  7.

CBS knocks off NBC Look F and WABC knocks off Scripps? Well at least the latter is fitting as the majority of the Scripps stations are ABC affiliates.

I don't think that it looks like Scripps at all... I just compared it to WEWS, and it looks completely different.
