All of the stations minus WABC have had pretty substantial turnover when it comes to reporters, but it probably doesn't help that there are a lot of unfamiliar reporter faces at WCBS. When it comes to anchors though, Maurice, Kristine, and Lonnie are a pretty solid team however. It would be nice if Don Dhaler anchored with Dana Tyler at 6.
or Dick Brennan who's already on their roster. Dana and Dick anchored at 5 today. They should split it Maurice/Kristine 5 and 11 and Dana/Dick 6 and 9pm (which only totals to 1 hour given the 9 stays a half hour).

Meteorologist Tim Drawbridge from sister station WTEN did the weather this morning...

WCBS is back to the non-social distancing setup as of this morning

Yeah was interesting to see Byron doing weather... my guess is that they'll have the current weather team rotate for weekend AMs until they hire someone new. Another thought is to just have Chris do weekends and Byron do all weekdays like Mike Woods but I don't see them going that route.

I read the description -it seems to mention News nation "based in our new New York studios" ; so it seems like this is where News Nation will be broadcasting from? I don't know if this will translate to PIX...

I wonder if anyone is leaving? https://www.nbcnewyork.com/weather/weather-stories/violeta-yas-joins-storm-team-4/3559262/

We now know who will take Andy Adler's old spot; Mark Malusis from WFAN. He premieres Monday.

The answer is Kirstin and Craig, per her IG.
Ahh I see- very happy for them; especially both being veterans of the morning show for 22 years! Now all we need is Linda Church to come out of retirement and finally make the move to weekends

Just saw in the weekend TV listing of 2/19-20 WPIX weekend news 8-10am
Very interesting...Let the speculation begin as to who will anchor! Kala and Craig would be nice...

Don't know if this is a permanent change; but noticed that CBS2 News Saturday Morning aired this morning from 9-11AM; as opposed to 6-7AM and 9-10AM. It appears to be permanent in the guides.

Dick Brennan joined Jessica Moore (with Lonnie) for storm coverage on WLNY and Cbs News New York.

I believe they just hired a new anchor/reporter. From the WPIX news director courtesy of Newsblues: "
Arrianee LeBeau is also joining us as and Anchor/Reporter. Arrianee joins us from her most recent anchoring job in Arizona. Local and community news stories are what drive Arrianee and helping people connect is what she is passionate about. She is very excited to join our team and I know is looking forward to getting to know you all and the city we represent." Perhaps she will be on the 4 pm news.
FYI; her anchoring the 4pm is now confirmed

Well, Monday morning should be interesting, with Chris Cimino starting and possibly Vanessa returning, and the snow being forecast. And will we have a new traffic reporter finally?
I think this pretty much answers that now- Alex Lee will be the new traffic anchor. My guess is she starts Monday with Chris and Vanessa.

Coming full circle I guess... wonder if this means the 4pm will get canceled?

I noticed many long time News12 LI talent are leaving in droves... could it be massive layoffs?

This definitely seems like it was not their choices to leave.
Also found this article, so it seems true: https://patch.com/new-york/northfork/s/i1o1n/familiar-faces-news-12-bid-adieu-after-altice-staffing-shifts?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&utm_term=business&utm_campaign=autopost&utm_content=northfork

It seems WCBS hasn't completely neglected traffic reports:

This made me look back at exactly what happened- I feel very bad for Chris since he was with WNBC for more than 24 years. Essentially he was terminated shortly after accidentally dropping the f-bomb during a Today show hit, not realizing he was live on air. WNBC tried to cover it up as if Chris was spending more time with family or something, but Chris spoke out and told the truth after. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2019/8/16/when-you-are-called-into-the-gms-office-and-whacked
Really glad PIX is giving him this opportunity. I could see an eventual weekend morning newscast or something added, they definitely have the talent for it.
-
Two minor changes I noticed while watching the News at 9 tonight: the wlnytv.com and social media handle was replaced with a static CBSNewYork.com, and they closed with image news (but enforcer is used all other times).
-
Hmmm very interesting. I guess he'll take early mornings and Byron late mornings.. and yeah I could definitely see G retiring in the near future and Byron being groomed to replace him. Also always good to see Craig Allen still filling in when needed
-
I tuned in at 11, Dana is solo.. I didn't catch the 9pm but I saw one video had Dick Brennan anchoring from home. It could be a test result came back in the middle of the newscast so they took him off, but just speculation.
-
My best guess would be WPIX, but then there's the question of if she's able/willing to cover weather from 4-6...but then again Jill Nicolini's able to do it
-
Very plausible...another thing to note is that there was a point last week where John Elliott seemed to be the only weather talent available...he filled in for Elise in the AM and noon, Lonnie in the PM, did his normal shift Saturday morning AND filled in for Vanessa Saturday night. I guess they normally would've brought John Marshall in but he's now at Fox weather.

PIX definitely needs to expand their team beyond Tamsen and Kori if they want to expand. Personally not a fan of the new 4pm anchor either. I could see Shirley Chan given a permanent anchor role soon given she fills in a lot. Either way don't see it lasting long as others mentioned
