I can confirm new graphics are coming to WOIO. Last I heard was March.
-
…but KCAL isn’t CBS…
-
I wouldn’t be surprised if they walk this back because of station pushback.
-
I am not a fan of the talent lower thirds. It’s like WSVN meets Tegna. I thought the whole point of these graphics were to NOT look like news.
-
That looks like an in-house job...and not a good one.
-
So, a new floor that most people won't even notice? Great use of money.
-
Because KTLA recognizes that viewers like authenticity & the station respects their employees for being real. It paid off.
-
This is a whole new level of stupid.
-
The videos were on the "WAVE 3 News" Vimeo page. They have since been deleted.
-
Nope. Two separate videos.
-
Good thing I downloaded the videos and took screenshots There are two separate designs. I'm sure you can figure out which screenshot belongs with each.
-
I don't either. This version is FANTASTIC! 10/10.
-
@FiveNewsIs it Beyond or a new custom package? I'd love to hear it!
-
Probably why they are shrinking the sports department. I'm worried about what this guy will do being he managed WGCL.
-
AWESOME! I'm so excited. I really hope he gets an anchor gig.

Interesting. I didn't think KDKA was one to try something like this! I hope it works out for them because their morning news has always been #3. It's so stale. I don't know how I missed this, but in late May, KDKA let go of Rick Dayton AND Susan Koeppen. Wow. I wonder if this, along with other changes, will hurt their ratings. Could this be the start of the end?

Ooh. I like that shot A LOT. Hope they keep using it post-COVID. Are any anchors at WNBC still at home?
-
The handheld ones are more hideous, if they are big. KOIN uses super small ones that are hardly noticeable. That's what I was referring to. You can see them at around 2:56 below...
-
Why are the anchors off center? Also, why use those hideous desktop teleprompter operators? If you don't want to bring in your human teleprompter operator yet, at least buy the ones that go under the desk or super small handheld ones (which they do make).
