  1. Yes. They did a REALLY good job. It's a nice look. The new Guardian updates are awesome, too, IMO!
  2. I'm not sure about WBNS, from what I understand from someone at WTHR- their new look should debut in December.
  3. This is really interesting. I don't mind the name changes (I like "Go!" a lot.) It'll be neat to see how the relaunch goes. They are trying something SO radically different. And I give them props for having the balls to do it. Studies show younger audiences think local news is formulaic and boring. So this, in my opinion, is a good way to shake it up. I hope the newscasts are interesting to watch and they have good content. I'm hoping (and I won't be surprised) if they start doing stories in the style of Vice News and KXTV. I think viewers would like that.
  4. Yeah. I would say this plan is VERY ambitious. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out.
  5. Huh. Interesting. I think this is the most ambitious Tegna relaunch ever. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. Could you post the promos?
  6. Interesting i'm all for local TV innvation, but whatever they do, it better be good. Their new director of news content, Adam Miller, ran the 4th hour of the Today Show before he came to WKYC. So- I think it'll be good. Can you post some of the promos?
  7. Okay. Details please! Lol. What on-air changes are they promoting, what all was seen in the promo, etc. I can't find anything online.
  8. So we're pretty certain their is a new look coming? What about music? Kind if tired of Inergy.
  9. I think its the fact that she was dumb enough to say it while mic'd up, on cam, etc. I don't have a problem with the language, just her lack of judgement.
  10. Could someone with an Apple device (these allow internal audio recording) please record/upload the tease (at about 12:00) and rejoin (at about 14:45) from WVEC's 11pm show from Friday night via NewsOn? They played some long bumps of what I think are new C Clarity cuts! I would like to loop the tracks and I think everyone should hear them, too!
  11. WJET here in Erie has revamped their website, and posted a job opening for a Digital Multi Media Journalist to "focus exclusively on reporting for our local digital platforms." The job description also mentions things like original video, stories, etc. https://www.yourerie.com
  12. Wow. I'm in the minority on this forum when I say I love Tegna, but...I'm a little dissapointed they are buying WBNS and WTHR. Those stations are special and I would much rather prefer a more 'traditional' company buys them just to be on the safe side. BUT it will be interrsting to see how they utilize the music, graphics, social media, etc. I think they will benefit from Tegna's Verify brand and the company's emphasis on long-form storytelling. If management at these stations doesn't take this too far the wrong way...I actually think this aquisition might be beneficial for these stations.
  13. Who do Tegna stations use for production music? FirstCom, correct?
  14. I'm guessing a redesign is coming soon. Since about 2007, CBS O&Os have updated their graphics and music every 3 years. Last update was in April 2016...nearly three years ago.
  15. I don't think CBS would really want to revamp its morning show AGAIN. Would it? CBS This Morning has improved much since it has debuted. So much so, that I watched it recently and actually liked it a lot.
  16. I know. That's what I was thinking, too.
  17. Tonight, meteorologist Betsy Kling was one of the anchors on WKYC's 6pm show. I'll say this: if channel 3 ever needs a new evening anchor, they might have one in their weather department.
  18. I don't think that's what he means. I think he means that he wants to turn WKYC into a mini-NBC. Meaning good journalism, good production, and good shows.
  19. WE GET IT! You don't like NBC!
  20. Okay. I did see that on the livestream this morning. Last week it was KHOU 11 News This Morning.
  21. I don't think that is the name of the show. It's a hashtag they want the viewers to use.
  22. Maurice DuBois is in for Jeff Glor tonight. He is SO much better than Jeff. I would be more likely to watch CBS if he was bumped up from CBS2.
  23. I know, that's what I said.
  24. Yes, some stations have gone down ratings wise. But, that is on the station, not the company. The news director and executives at each station are the people making the day-to-day decisions. A lot of these concepts are different for sure. But, TEGNA is pushing it so TV news will survive. A lot of these concepts and new ideas have captured the audiences they were intended to (young people). TEGNA's new graphics and music packages have outperformed the previous, and KUSA's "Next with Kyle Clark" is now the top rated newscast in all of Denver in any time period. So, yes, these are different ways of doing the news, but they're working.
  25. I know, right? I REALLY want to know what went down at that content summit, what was discussed. A summit dedicated to innovating their product is a great idea.
