  1. I'll report on that in an hour on my blog. I'll report on it tomorrow. Its the second 4:00pm newscast in the market, just after WJFW 12's "NewsWatch 12 - Up North at 4:00" which debuted last year.
  2. Yeah thats true but look at the positives and see that WUPL will still be carrying the entire block so its not like you have to switch channels if you want to. But for sure, Channel 4 is where the majority of the viewership is so it'll be a tough act to follow with this change.
  3. But the entire 4:30-9am block will now be seen on WUPL Channel 54, so its not like the continuous block is dead or having to split and click channels after a certain point.
  4. Sorry to double post but he's right. TV listings show that.
  5. Btw, WWSB 40 in Sarasota recently expanded their 7:00pm news to a full hour so its getting there.
  6. Some stations already do that at 7:30pm in the East Coast, mainly Raycom's WAVE 3 in Louisville and WCSC 5 in Charleston.
  7. Yep... four 9pm newscasts in Mobile. Similar to Boston until WBZ moved its 10pm news to WSBK (focused on Boston-centric stations though - I know there are 2 NH-focused ones as well)
  8. Condolences to him, but will that finally mean that WOAY will be sold to a better ownership group? Somebody like Gray?
  9. Not at WFOR and its the only English-language station in my market that does so. The rest (WTVJ, WSVN and WPLG) are formatted in 16:9 The Spanish stations aren't... at least as of now.
  10. The profile image that he has on him... WDAF-TV 4 / Kansas City
  11. I dont think I've ever seen Jim laugh that funny before. It's hard for him to laugh uncontrolably.
  12. Good luck to KXTV. I can tell its already failing miserably.
  13. For those who are wondering about why i>Tele in France has not been rebranded to CNews as of yet, there has apparently been a management strike between management and journalists. This information is according to the French version of Wikipedia which has better details of info and programming on French news networks, including BFM TV, i>Tele, LCI and Franceinfo, than the English versions. It says that the rebrand to CNews will happen but at a later date. If you look at the planned "CNews" logo, its similar to the other Canal+ logos out there and its to make the name closer to the Canal+ group that still exists in France. They plan to use this logo once the rebrand happens, which is whenever the strike will end.
  14. I think the full-power KFXF is going to be shut down for spectrum.
  15. If WWL were to go Independent instead, it would be a HUGE blow to WDSU, WVUE and especially WGNO. I dont see that happening, but i don't wanna rule anything out.
  16. Unfortunately, I dont see that happening since WWL has been CBS for as long as I can remember and possibly as long as the station has been around itself.
  17. WFLD even beat WMAQ! That's so rare.
  18. So WGN and the Cubs were meant to be together.
  19. Sorry for the double post, but yeah. Its official. That's pretty sad because if it does horribly on WUPL, then the 30-year-old 7-9am block will be vanished. I'd bet WVUE is ECSTATIC at this news considering that this can hurt WWL's morning news ratings.
  20. Actually, KUTV airs the first hour at 8am while KMYU airs the second hour at 9am.
  21. Its similar today. WTLV still has first half-hour only of morning news (4:30am) and exclusive to noon while 7:00pm is still only on 25.
  22. I know that WXLV has news again but it doesn't beat their original attempt and even by then, it was bad.
  23. Actually that was at the time of the merger. If you read the description, it says it was on the first day or on the first week of the new merged operation.
  24. Has it? TV listings are always confusing to me. TV listings have always shown the program as 4:30-7am.
  25. Imagine he goes back to KTTV to do the news with Christine Devine once again. Probably won't happen but one can imagine.
