  1. The 10pm weekday anchor team of Rob Stafford, Allison Rosati and Brant Miller was doing the post-Super Bowl newscast tonight.
  2. The olympic version of the station's news logo was seen according to the video on Brant Miller's FB page, but the Olympic version of the NBC5 Chicago logo was seen at the end of the promo.

We're just one month away before the Winter Olympics, WMAQ has use the Olympic version of the current logo as according to the promo posted on the facebook page of the station's meteorologist Brant Miller.   4. Last night during the station's NYE coverage, the countdown in Navy Pier was interrupted for some commercials during the last 30 seconds of the countdown but they came back after the fireworks at the Centennial Wheel was ended. Does the station made an EPIC FAIL during live events?

During the Morning Newscast yesterday, they accidently mistaken by showing the video of the band BTS during their appearance on Ellen last month while they researching on the passing of Kim Jong-hyun, a member of the popular South Korean boy band SHINee. Eariler today during the morning newscast, the station made a apology for mistaking the video.
  6. WMAQ's logo was switched to their Olympic variation of the logo on their Facebook page today.
  7. Well almost... WMAQ is planning a New Year's Eve special for 2018? Chi-Town Rising was a mega failure for channel 5.

  9. Yesterday, Lauren Petty and Allison Rosati was filled in for Marion Brooks and Dick Johnson at 4P, 5P and 6P while Allison went solo at 10P.

As you may know the new anchor changes at channel 5 begining August 28 will be like this: 4A-7A: Alex, Zoraida, Andy and Kye 4A-7A: Alex, Marion and Alicia/Kalee 4P: Patrick, Marion and Brant 5P, 6P and 10P: Rob, Allison, Brant and Siafa Weekends Mornings: Susan, Christian, Kalee and Marley Evenings: Dick, Michelle, Alicia and Jeff/Mike I think if Rob comes back to the 5, 6 and 10P newscasts, Dick will go back to the weekends just like did before Rob is going on a medical leave back in March?

Last week the station's bug was switched in time next year's Winter Olympics; NBC meanwhile, the Olympics bug also switched from the network's standard bug recently, it will be the earliest to switch to the Olympics bug rather than the usual begin to use at the start of Fall TV season, the kickoff to the 2017-18 TV season will be in 5 weeks from this week. also, as of today, the station's website was switched to their Olympics logo and the station's Facebook page, Twitter account and Instagram account was still using the station's standard logo.... can not wait until the Olympics logo will include to the station's Social media accounts.
  12. Michelle Releford was doing 4pm news today with Marion Brooks. Allison Rosati joined Marion for the 5pm also. Allison and Michelle are both doing the 6 and 10pm news this evening. great girl power all night long.
  13. Well anyway, Allison is doing the 5, 6 and 10 tonight; Ally was with Marion at 5 and Dick at 6 and 10. Is the Italian-american female journalist in Chicago had fill-in with Marion at 4 last week? great question.

WMAQ has hired Tracy Davis, the news director currently working at CBS-affiliated station WDJT in Milwaukee to appointed as the station's assistant news director. this comes 6 months following its former news director Debra Juarez was promoted as VP, digital for its Miami sister station.   15. This Saturday Night is the biggest New Year's eve party in Chicago today, entitled "Chi-Town Rising". Channel 5 will be back to broadcast the NYE event Live as like did to last year, which is became the highest rated NYE event despite the hosting complaints and the video production errors.   16. I saw this week's issue of "Entertainment Weekly", there's an ad for "New York Live". Does WNBC themselves putting the ad for the local show in a national magazine?

This Sunday is SNL 40th Anniversary Special, and I guess Channel 4 will aired an special episode of 1st Look with New York Live's Sara Gore and Jacque Reid following the news... and an ad for the actual special was appeared in this week's New York Magazine but missing from the ad is the mention of "1st Look Live From New York" who is advertised on the station but not on the NY Magazine ad, and also missing from the ad is the use of the "4 New York" branding in which channel 4 runs the special, Instead they used "NBC" for national promos instead of just "4 New York" for advertisments of some National NBC Programs in magazines (like New York) and however they wanted to use the "4 New York" branding for some promotional materials in newspaper and outdoor advertisments of National NBC Programing...
