No new graphics — only some changes to the cuts of their existing music package and updated opens/re-opens.

  2. This screenshot of an on-air legal ID teases the new set under construction at channel 7. Their studio is an awkward rectangle and if this image confirms anything, they’re finally utilizing that space to its full capacity.

  7. This set from WLBT was an interesting design.  The set was designed by various teams in Jackson and was installed in 1995. A lot of the features with the images were removed from the set not long after the set debuted. The was a lot of emphasis on the locally-designed part of it, but it was a look that didn’t age well.

Looks like WTOK may be switching to this package based on the top banner update on their website and the talent backgrounds on their staff page.

I’ve noticed this logo on the newsroom wall in a picture found on Facebook. I don’t recall this ever being a logo used before, so maybe there’s a lot more to come for Meridian?  479D6F1F-B76E-49BE-8A57-DE11BDD7CD40.thumb.jpeg.13f62e927f0ec164a3bb193c2cacd621.jpeg

Yeah, but it's all still Tribune's in-house garbage being replaced.

Anyone with a former Tribune station has to do this, regardless of how old or new the facility is. The WREG engineers are probably too busy planning out installs of their own new toys to care.

As I heard it described, Tribune used “duct tape and chicken wire” and TEGNA uses “broadcast equipment”  to work with.  There have been a a couple of newscasts this week that have not gone on-air due to the master control upgrades.
