Is Kendis Gibson still on MSNBC?? I am not up early enough to watch him weekend mornings. But his perspective and experience would be valuable during these times as well. Plus considering the disaster that has occurred around ABC News and Barbara Fedida with Kendis, and many others, you would think MSNBC would have very publicly shown him support.
Kendis still hosts early morning weekends alongside Lindsey and Kori.

Morgan Ratford?
Morgan hosted this morning and I agree that she'd be a better fit than any of the political correspondents: Hallie Jackson and Kristen Welker.

Dan was a great reporter down here. Glad he is going to target bigger fish in NYC. Also I really miss Paul deanno when he was at wtvj.
In addition to losing Dan, Darryl Forges is also moving on up to a bigger market. He is going to Atlanta but no word yet on which station he is joining.

Anyone watched the second hour this morning?

Will this be aired on all ABC affiliates or just some of the affiliates? Also does the ABC affiliates have an option to split up or even air one of the 2 hours of GMA on weekends?
If that's the case and it's all over the country, then KOCO will have to lose an hour of local news on weekend mornings in order to accomodate the full 2 hours of GMA Weekend (KSWO and KTUL on the other hand won't be affected by it at all as they don't air local news on weekend mornings at all)
According to TVNewser, only 100 markets have cleared the new hour so far.

I guess they're taking advantage of the new kidvid rules.
From Variety, GMA Saturday is expanding to two hours for a good chunk of its affiliates beginning next week.
Looking at the guides, the two hours won't be together. For example:
Great they're joining CBS and NBC. I hope they use the Times Square studio for GMA weekend soon.

Carlos Suarez, former WPLG anchor and fellow FIU alum, has joined WTVJ as an anchor/reporter. Great to see him back on TV.

WPLG weekend morning anchor Todd Tongen has died at age 56.
So saddened by his sudden passing. I was just watching him anchor the news this weekend.

I see he's taking the Lester Holt approach until CBS finds a suitable replacemwnt.
I've always found Don Dahler as a suitable replacement.

Anthony Mason still anchoring CTM: Saturday.
He said on Twitter he will be on that show for a few more weeks.

I am excited to see the new trio come Monday morning. But with Anthony moving to weekdays, who replaces him on CTM Sats?

Not exactly sure when this started but WSFL is doing morning weather updates and news updates throughout the day at the :59 mark of the hour. I haven't really caught the weather updates but the news updates I have seen so far are branded under "Inside South Florida" (their weekend show) with tech and sports news. Hopefully Scripps will use their WPTV team for some local news content.

WPLG's Laurie Jennings is stepping off the anchor desk to spend more time with her family.

Some changes coming to WTVJ starting tomorrow. Johnny Archer moves to mornings from weekend evenings. No word yet on who he will replace. Angie Lassman goes back to 11 am and 4 pm.

I imagine they’ll stay on the weekend. NBC has been doing that with their First Look team the past year. They probably have the afternoons off and with no Sunday shows they probably can leave at 9AM. Willie Geist, Ayman Mohyeldin, Yasmin Vossoughian and Jose-Diaz Balart all do six day work weeks.
Dylan works Sundays too alongside Willie.
-
With Dylan and Sheinelle going full time on the 3rd hour, who replace them on the weekend? I don't see any strong in house replacement.

Kendis Gibson joins MSNBC as weekend afternoon anchor 2-4 pm. His first day is January 19th.

The 3rd hour is back in Studio 1A
-
Wonder if it’ll continue to trend that way. NBC has been closing the total viewer gap lately. GMA really needs to hit reset and dump Strahan from the main hour.
And dump the studio audience in the 8 am hour too please.
-
The third hour opened as basically an extension of the main show.
Edit: at 9:20 am Jenna Bush Hager picked things up from studio 6A with Al and Craig joining her later on.

Today is Paula Faris' last day. Whit Johnson and Eva Pilgrim joins the weekend team alongside Dan Harris, Rob Marciano, and Adrienne Bankert starting tomorrow.
-
Was Cecilia Vega in for Michael this morning on the mothership GMA? I wonder if it was just because GMA Day premiered today.
Also, Whit seems to have become a permanent third anchor on weekend GMA.
Yes Cecilia Vega was the third co-anchor this morning.

Dana Jacobson and Michelle Miller are the new co hosts of This Morning Saturday.

I like seeing TJ Holmes fill in for Amy the past few days and the whole feel of the program.
