  1. I found the content fine. The execution of the testing was what sucked. In that case the volume and operation was controled by the driver(understandable) for safety reasons. We won't know until Monday during the MTS rollout how the new system will operate, but they will want to avoid the "Jailhouse" TV problems when the English speakers and Non- English speakers duke it out in the isles over what telenovella to watch.
  2. I hope they tell Renee Nelson about the broken traffic ticker. Jason Martinez said we was going get it fixed a few weeks ago.
  3. Seeing that ND Tiffany Lupenski came from Portland it all makes sense. More "San Diego Mommies" to watch fight it out for the top "Anchor Mommy" slot. I hope there will be cupcakes.
  4. The Transit TV was tried on the North County Transit system also. The funniest thing was the electronic "stop announcer" that had big problems "saying" Spanish street names properly. Kinda likw a messed up GPS voice.
  5. SD Trolley TV Eds: At noon MONDAY, 12th and Imperial Transit Center, 1255 Imperial Ave. Rob Schupp of the MTS can be reached at (619) 557- SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The Metropolitan Transit System in San Diego is scheduled Monday to launch a pilot video-on-demand service on Green Line trolleys. Passengers on the line, which runs from downtown to Old Town then east through Mission Valley to El Cajon and Santee, will be able to watch movies, television shows, cartoons, action sports, Hollywood updates and other entertainment for free, according to the MTS. The MTS-TV service will be available for smartphones, laptops and tablets. Riders on the Blue and Orange lines will be able to use MTS-TV by the end of the month, the MTS said. CNS-08-21-2015 12:47 So what local station will be the local "News Partner"??? I can't wait!
  6. WGN want's it's cut of the estimated 15 billion in campaign spending in this election cycle. Stations are adding 4pm,7pm and 10pm shows all over the country. Who cares about ratings since stations are pretty much required to accept the ads.
  7. But most DBS subscribers cannot bounce back and forth due to contracts. The tide is changing very quickly...faster than DBS and cable can fathom. Free OTA and a 5-30 mbs internet connection can do serious damage to DBS and Cable. I think there will be a giant push for de-reg, dropping fin/syn completely and letting the markets fight it out.
  8. It's a very bold move. Cord cutters are buying antennas and enjoying all those FREE subchannels and free HD.
  9. Negotiations on camera movements and angles go back to the Nixon / Kennedy debates. Just about every debate since then have included them as part of the discussion. Many ofthe items are just "check boxes" in the interest of fairness.
  10. Yeah I finally saw the job posting....I digress. Puppy videos and the Breaking News Crapper! More non-stedicam shaky shots.... Maybe KFMB can bring back.... "This Day" If Jim Holtzman and Ron Mires were dead,,,,they would roll in the grave. To bad both are alive and have to watch this crap.
  11. Just another newscast for political avails. You can bet there will be plenty of puppy videos and maybe even the world famous broken KGTV traffic ticker. As far as a "live center anchor" goes.... Don't count on getting "anchor bucks", it just a fancy title for MMJ. Could even be a perdiem MMJ. If that sounds, fun then get in line to pee in the cup!
  12. Natasha is in a better place now. She will always be welcomed back for vacation fill-in. Kimi Evans was hired from day 1 as perm. "Natasha coming back" was the worst kept secret in recent local TV history. 5 screaming kids beats the hell out of a TV newsroom in 2015.
  13. If it wasn't for Maury I would not know who my daddies were.
  14. Former FOX-6 San Diego Anchor Lynda Martin spotted co-anchoring on KFMB's /CBS 8 morning show this morning. Most likely fill-in since it's that time of the year.
  15. Just split them down the middle... One side KPHO, the other side KTVK. Hubcaps on one side...no hubcaps on the other. That will confuse the hell out of the reporters. It worked for KCAL/KCBS.
  16. It also features a very young John Coleman later of KUSI
  17. That "Brand Equity" is what is killing them.
  18. Heather Hopeless KFMB... How many times can she say "were talking about"......in one liveshot??? I counted 6 times. Lucky for her I didn't record that liveshot.
  19. John Coleman is back on KUSI!!! Doing commercials for Solar Alliance of America,,,a local solar energy company. I guess after Cheeta's shut down he got bored.
  20. The little guy that says "Bonjour" is a crack-up. He makes me laugh.
  21. I must admit I am one of those people. But I switch to SPIKE TV at 8pm on Saturday... to get my fix from COPS.
  22. CBS radio has lopped off 300 heads in the last few weeks so that's usually not a sign of a group looking to aquire more stations. Granted the head of the KFMB radio stations just "retired" last week. Unless there is a real sweet offer on the table, I cannot see KFMB breaking off the radio side. The radio stations are NOT losing money by a longshot. They also run radio pretty lean. Just a wild guess.... The local CBS radio stations become part of KFMB?
  23. It's available...buy the domain now!
  24. I does look different, actually a bit like the "detail" was mushed back a bit. But I really don't know. I thought the orange tint was just me.
