  1. Partial BBC weekend news bulletin with Fiona Bruce (May 13, 2000)

A full edition of Rede Globo's national late newscast with Lilian Witte Fibe (April 3, 2000)

A short excerpt of Canal 13's late news with Mario Massaccessi from the early hours of December 16, 2014. He was forced to stay up late until 2am that night to present the program because the final episode of Marcelo Tinelli's Showmatch overran into the news' usual timeslot (12:30am)

  2. A promo of Travel Travel, a travel show produced out of CFCF in Montreal, hosted by Don McGowan. In the US, the program aired on the Travel Channel. WHDH-TV in Boston was one of the handful of OTA stations that carried the show.

Some local and national promos from STW-9 Perth in September 2003.

Seven Network's intro of its coverage of summer tennis in 2002:

Epic intro of Futbol de Primera in 2005, the year of its 20th anniversary. Part 2 of the intro is at 4:31.

  3. BBC One's 10 O'Clock News with Fiona Bruce from May 31, 2006. At the end, there's a South Today cut-in with Dani Sinha (she's now at Five News)

Fernando Onega anchors Antena 3's main evening broadcast from Brussels on May 1st, 1998, the day when the Euro was oficially presented.

Also from May 1998, SIC's midday newscast is presented from the field by Rodrigo Guedes de Carvalho at Braga, in northern Portugal.

Listen the way YouTube is acting up nowadays, it's hard to search for vintage newscast. But luckily i found a ton. So let's get started.

WPLG the one & only ID 1990 arguably THE GREATEST Station id EVER! if anyone wants to challenge that....

    WPLG Eyewitness News 1990 11pm

WPLG Eyewitness News 1990 5 pm

WCIX (WFOR) Action News 11 pm 1990

WBZ 11pm Eyewitness News and Sports Final

    WNEW 10 o'clock news 1982

A question for all Chicagoans when did WFLD launched a 9:30 News? 1990 BTW.

Back then, WFLD's 9pm hour was divided into two segments: the first half hour was devoted to news, sports and weather, and the remaining half hour was a light news program with features. It didn't last long.

  5. The intro of the very first edition of Nightline after the retirement of Ted Koppel (November 28, 2005), when Terry Moran, Cynthia McFadden and Martin Bashir took over as hosts of the program. Strange to see the opener in 16:9. Anyone knows when the program started to be broadcast in this format before switching to HD?

  6. RTP2's ident and a handover to Euronews in Portuguese (March 9, 2019)

Partial RTÉ news headlines with Angie Mezzetti (March 21, 1998)

BBC's full Sunday late evening news and weather with the two Michaels: Michael Buerk and Michael Fish (March 22, 1998)

From New Zealand: the intro of 3 News Nightline with Alistair Wilkinson (July 2007)

  7. The final segment and closer of One News in 2006, where Kate Hawkesby recaps the headlines that will be on the next day's papers. The forecast is presented without a voiceover, while a salsa version of "Smoke on the Water" is the background music. Plus, a long promo of One News with the slogan "Your News".

A closer of Multimedios Television's Telediario from Christmas 2006, using Overture as its theme.

And finally, the closer of the midday edition of Telenueve on January 16, 2012, the day the newscasts began to be broadcast in HD. At the time the news service was a low-budget one: the newscasts were anchored by one person (all of them were guys) and the set was a watered-down version of the one used between 2003 and 2008. Beginning in 2014, Telenueve was boosted by returning to a two-anchor format (men and women) and premiered new sets and graphics.

  8. More sports now! Here's the intro of CBS Sports Spectacular in 1973, sponsored by Ford.
WARNING: it's a catchy tune and maybe you'll end up humming it or even singing it!

A small update on Fútbol de Primera: the complete intro of the show from 1999, when it celebrated its 15th season on air.

  9. When soccer came alive to our TV screens: an old intro from the show "Futbol de Primera" in 1988. The program aired on Sunday nights between 1985 and 2009, carrying highlights of the soccer matches played during the weekend. The theme from the movie Blade Runner (used by the program) became an institution and has been associated with sports broadcasting in the country ever since.

Plus, the intro of the legendary British show Trans World Sport from the late 1990s:

  10. Time for a bit of music! Some of BBC's main personalities singing three of the Bee Gees' most memorable songs in a 1999 Comic Relief special:

In September 2001, Argentine station Azul Televisión revamped its identity, so it hired three Blue Man Group impersonators to perform on its IDs. The IDs were removed in April 2002, when the identity became more calm and peaceful, switching the background color from blue to white.

  11. A lovely moment: news anchor Guillermo Andino introduces himself on TV in 1987 at the young age of 19, when he was asked to replace his late father on the program he anchored on Canal 13. There's also a blooper included from 10 years later (1997) when he became the target of a prank call on live TV.

  12. Intro and excerpt of WCVB's locally-produced show Night Shift in 1988, hosted by Yakov Caplan. The program showcased animation and short films created by filmmakers from around the region. It's sad to know that programs like this one aren't produced anymore.

  13. Intro, graphics and music theme from Agro Sintesis, a farm news program that Canal 13 aired weekdays at 6:30am between 2010 and 2014, before the start of the morning news. The graphics reel is from Bruno Scopazzo's YouTube account, who designed them!

  14. A promo of Canal 7's Desayuno in 2001. It was pretty succesful at the time because it was the only TV program during the breakfast hours: the other stations (America, Azul Television, Telefe and Canal 13) didn't sign-on until or after 10am, when the program ended. It was canceled in 2006.
