Yeah for WTOV, it would be easy for them. Just simulcast their 10pm news on both TOV and FOX9.2, and you're done. But as for WFMJ, I agree that they should start a 10pm newscast on WBCB, but it took them over 20 years to start a 5pm newscast, if that's any indication on whether or not they actually will.

I get where you're coming from, but some station logos should never be changed. Ever. On the other hand, there are other station logos that need a complete overhaul (see WKYC and WRTV, for example).

Well the new ABC logo has grown on me. I don't really mind it now. The CBS logo bug still kinda bothers me as I think it should be bigger, but that's really much ado about nothing. As for the NBC logo update? A white border around the peacock would make it look better, but it doesn't look all that bad.

My guess is that it's probably due to the midterm election tomorrow.

Oh I completely agree with you. IMHO, he was a better reporter than he is an anchor. He's not a terrible anchor by any means, but he was much better as a reporter.

John Shumway and David Highfield are still there. How much longer that lasts remains to be seen, but as @Tylersaid, all the other greats have retired.

Yep. Figured that was gonna happen. I mean good for him for standing up for his former co-anchor and friend, but obviously, KTLA management has become very thin skinned, and it's a shame really.

I like it! I do agree with @24994Jabout the bug. It's entirely too big. But other than that, this package looks great!

It's so simple that it's ridiculous. You have the talent to get out of the ratings basement. It's just little things they can change to make the product better. And I really think they're pushing Sara Shookman out. I thought she did the 11pm too, but maybe Laura Caso does it now?- 3735 replies

I don't have a problem with them moving Jay and Betsy up an hour to 4pm. They're a really good team, and they'd be foolish to break them up. Still think the names of the newscasts are stupid. 3News at 4 & 5 are completely axceptable. But again, this is WKYC we're talking about lol.- 3735 replies

That's really one of the only ways they are lol. They do well in the ratings, but other than that, there isn't all that much that's special about them.

Yeah I agree. I'm impressed. I really like this! I thought they'd go the CBS Mornings route in terms of the L3s, but happy to be proven wrong on that.

Ok a couple things with this. 1. Why is Denise anchoring this newscast? Doesn't she just do the 6pm? And 2. KDKA already does Pittsburgh Today Live at 9am (which is technically a lifestyle show), so I'm not sure why they'd start a 9am newscast when they already have a locally produced show that seems to be successful in that slot.

They don't lol. The whole comic book, cartoon character look is really bad. The only graphics pacakge that actually looks somewhat decent is the college basketball package, even though the scoreboard is way too big.

Looks like the CBSNs will be renamed on Monday based on that first screenshot. Is that confirmed or would that be just speculation?

It seems like they are because KDKA has also added another hour of Saturday morning news at 10am.

I agree that Access Hollywood was never the best fit for her. I feel like she's more of a hard news journalist, but NBC was trying to make her do more entertaintment and celebrity news instead of hard news like she was doing on TODAY as the newsreader.

I get what you're saying. I do. And I'm all for trying something new and hoping it sticks. But I'll echo what @Adam MadMansaid. If this is something like what The Daily Show is, then it's just going to be a cheap gimmick. The only difference is that this show is airing on a local television station, not a show on a comedy network, where it would belong.- 3735 replies
