Looks like Jennifer Hudson is the new Kelly Clarkson as her show replaced The Real at 1:05 on WTAE-TV.  Hopefully Clarkson on WTAE at 3pm won't tank the 5pm news.  WPXI had her show at 3am for a reason.

I wonder what WPXI will have at 3 instead of Judge Judy?  Hopefully not more news.

It would not shock me if more news gets added at WPXI. I'm not saying they will, but if they did, it would not be a surprise. It is surprising to see Judge Judy move to WPGH however. I didn't expect that.

And Kelly Clarkson's show is obviously getting an audience, or else it wouldn't still be on the air. It shouldn't hurt WTAE's ratings. Hopefully with the show being in a better timeslot in Pittsburgh, it will get better ratings.

It’s silly…just go back to “Channel 3 News.”

One notable thing is Sara Shookman’s sharp decline in having any sort of presence here. As recently as 2018, she was the main anchor and now has been relegated to 7pm - and gets pushed out by Christi Paul and Carmen Blackwell.

It's so simple that it's ridiculous. You have the talent to get out of the ratings basement. It's just little things they can change to make the product better.

And I really think they're pushing Sara Shookman out. I thought she did the 11pm too, but maybe Laura Caso does it now?

WKYC has announced who is anchoring the news between 4pm and 6:30pm starting next month:

4pm - Jay Crawford and Betsy Kling

5pm - Christi Paul and Carmen Blackwell

6pm - Russ Mitchell and Laura Caso

I don't have a problem with them moving Jay and Betsy up an hour to 4pm. They're a really good team, and they'd be foolish to break them up. Still think the names of the newscasts are stupid. 3News at 4 & 5 are completely axceptable. But again, this is WKYC we're talking about lol.

On September 12, WJW is running TWO hours of New Day Cleveland from 10am until noon, a full-hour of informercials at 1pm and TWO hours of Judge Judy from 2pm to 4pm.

Wow. I can understand the two hours of New Day to fill the time because adding another hour of morning news would be overkill, IMO. But infomercials and two hours of Judge Judy? That's a bit much. I mean I know there's not many options in terms of syndicated programming, and I get that, but infomercials? Really?

I’m not a fan of the black and gold graphics but when it comes to ratings—compared to WCBS, KCBS, and WBBM—KDKA is special.

That's really one of the only ways they are lol. They do well in the ratings, but other than that, there isn't all that much that's special about them.

I’m… surprised…. This looks amazing, love brining back an old theme, the L3’s are unique, and the open stands out. It’s nice to see CBS actually try, when they inevitably fire Norah this look will transition well. The CBS News streaming elements look great.

Yeah I agree. I'm impressed. I really like this! I thought they'd go the CBS Mornings route in terms of the L3s, but happy to be proven wrong on that.

And they’ve further modified the graphics, moving the logo, time, and temperature to the right side of the screen in a much more compact size.

It actually looks really good. They just need to get rid of that stupid logo, even though they won't lol.

They'll have a feed on DirecTV to count on (Good luck to those that have cable? And if you still have Dish and their 750 RTC issues/dumps in 2022 I don't know what to tell your business sense.). And of course if the game is local a regular station will carry it in syndication per NFL rules.

I don't think I've seen a list of what local stations will air Thursday night games this season. Like I know the Steelers have a Thursday night game this season, but I have no clue what local station or stations it will air on.

  9. New graphics for Steelers broadcasts this year. Looks to be an in-house job. The team must be producing the games this year as there was a Steelers Media Productions tag at the beginning of the game.

the 8th (and likely final) hearing has been scheduled for next Thursday in primetime. looking ahead to the network schedules for that evening, everything on the 4 major networks is reruns with the exception of ABC's game shows, so they should be in the clear to broadcast this hearing.

And except for Big Brother on CBS as they usually do an eviction episode live on Thursday night, and they originally pushed it to Friday because of the hearing, but has pushed it to Sunday night instead.

What Matters Most is now the slogan for the entire station.  The rest of the newscasts have their "unique" titles.

When this rebrand took place, What Matters Most was the name of the 6pm newscast. It isn't now.

    Back where it belongs... IMO.

I mean I get where you're coming from. WCVB used to broadcast the marathon for the longest time in the 90s and 2000s, but WBZ didn't do a bad job covering the race for as long as they did.

Getting back to next year's race. I wonder if CVB will bring Mike Lynch out of retirement for this. I'm not speculating either way. It's just a thought.

If it's anything like how they do the New York City Marathon with WABC, ESPN will likely use their talent and WCVB's.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I know ESPN has WABC's reporters along the marathon route. But who will be producing coverage of the race though? Does WABC and ESPN jointly produce coverage of the NYC Marathon?
