Updating this thread to say that it seems like KDKA has started a 12:30pm newscast on sister station WPCW and streaming platform CBSN Pittsburgh. It must have started today. Now all three Pittsburgh stations have a full hour of news at Noon and at 4pm starting this afternoon.

A look at the changes here in Pittsburgh. Once again, Kelly Clarkson gets bumped to 3am on WPXI because of the 4pm news with Susan Koeppen, debuting later today.

Any assumptions that the local CBS affiliates will start to rename its morning newscasts too? You know, some CBS affiliates wants to keep "in line" with the network morning block, hence they name their local morning newscast as "This Morning" too (e.g CBS 2 News This Morning (WCBS), WBZ This Morning (WBZ), CBS 3 Eyewitness News This Morning (KYW))... 

 

Not sure how I'll feel if for example, WCBS's morning news is renamed to "CBS 2 News Mornings"...

KDKA renamed their newscast to "Your Day Pittsburgh", but I'm not sure exactly when that happened. 

Well first it was WTAE, and now WPXI will launch a 4pm newscast coming up in September with Susan Koeppen anchoring.

WTAE will be launching the new 4pm show beginning Tuesday (7/6).

 

Other changes to the station's lineup:

• Ellen is being moved from 4pm to 3pm.
• Tamron is being moved from 3pm to 10am.
• And Dr. Oz is being bumped from 10am to 1:07am after Nightline.

Not surprising. It was going to happen eventually. I actually thought it would happen after Ellen ended her run next year, but this works too. 

Stacy Smith is retiring from KDKA-TV after 50 years in broadcasting, and 38 years at the station. His last day is May 30th.

Didn't see this brought up here, so I'll bring it up. 

WTOV chief meteorologist Kevin Carter announced his retirement yesterday, and his last newscast was last night.

Morning meteorologist Jeff Oechslein will become the new chief meteorologist, and will stay on the morning show.

WISH and WNDY have already been taken off of both DISH and DIRECTV.

Jeff Verszyla will be joining WTAE full time as their weekend evening meteorologist starting October 1st.

He's been freelancing at the station since July in the same capacity.

I'm shocked they didnt have the 6:56 adbreak last night.  That used to be a big ad revenue spot, especially during the PA lottery years and kenny ross.  I guess with current world events the ad sales aren't optimal.

I've always liked that as well. I think they only did that for the noon news though.

I'll have to see if they still have the 12:27 break before young and the restless.

I seen that tonight. Don't know when that started, but I noticed it this evening. 

The 12:27 break before Y&R is still there.

Be on the lookout for WRTV in Indianapolis.  I believe they may be getting ready to rebrand.  A vague ad was airing saying "The future is coming to WRTV soon" with just "WRTV" letters floating in the background, and they changed the title of their Facebook page to just "WRTV" this week.

Yeah I did notice that last part. Hopefully they don't get rid of the RTV6 branding. I like it.

Yeah C Clarity is a really serious downgrade from The Tower. And while the Eyewitness News brand isn't unique to the station like it is for a station such as WABC, they did use it for many years, and I think it just came as a surprise to see it go.

The graphics do look good. The music still sounds terrible. And 13 News is going to take some getting used to...

Wow. Never thought I'd see the day when WTHR would drop the Eyewitness News brand. Hopefully it doesn't hurt the station too bad in the long run, but there's a good chance it will. We shall see...

It'll be so sad to see the Tower go.

Other than the anchors distancing themselves on air like other stations have, there aren't changes in terms of expanded newscasts in Pittsburgh yet. Though I expect that to change.

They JUST evacuated that building.  Wouldn’t be shocked if CBSN output comes from DC for a bit as well once they get up and running—problem is a lot of the staff are NYC based.

Maybe this is the reason why CBS Sports HQ is currently being simulcast on CBS Sports Network.
