I put together a montage of the first newscast at WTHI without Patrece and Kevin. It’s an interesting format that has been in place over the past couple of weeks. There is a lot of information in the description of the video such as the back story and details on more changes happening at the station as soon as next week.

I’ve been told that big changes are coming to WTHI on Tuesday. From my understanding the station will be merging with WLFI and WFFT. Basically a ‘Wisconsin News Now’ in Indiana.

It broke my heart seeing this confirmed. Everyone was expecting, but it doesn’t make it easier. I grew up watching WTHI and I was lucky enough to work with both for a couple of years. Patrece trained and mentored me. Both are amazing souls and talented individuals that are loved deeply by their colleagues and the community. WTHI will never be the same….

Similar to Wisconsin, KEZI and KDRV now have combined newscasts under the brand of Oregon News Now.

Your stuff looks good! I taught broadcasting last year part time while working full time as a reporter at a tv station. I reached out to Stephen Arnold at the beginning of last year and they gave us a license for Lighthouse and access to The Vault For our projects/newscast. I’ve since quit both jobs and am in the process of starting my own streaming news/weather website for the county I live in. Both with my project and when teaching, Stephen Arnold Music was very supportive and helpful. I actually just licensed Frequency for my operation. If you have a budget, I encourage you to reach out to Jeff Ryan at SAM and see what they can do to help you!!

I’ve been told by a couple of people who have some close connections that NEWSNet is no more as of today. Has anyone else heard anything?

Who designed this look? I don’t think any stations use it now, but several have over the last 10 years.

Remember when Gray tried to recreate WABC’s old look? Looking at this and seeing the Beehive graphics, it’s clear that Gray really needs a new graphics department.

I almost wonder if this is some kind of design proposal that is using WAVE’s branding. A graphics designer did the same thing for Raycom. These obviously never aired.

Looks like WFIE launched “14News Now”. According to the post they can immediately go live on any platform. Looking at the pictures, I see WLOX’s graphics package in the background. Bet WFIE be switching soon.
