  1. In addition to ABC, ESPN would handle most of the coverage. Do you want to see Mike and Jamielle hosing Primetime coverage? #BECAREFULWHATYOUWISHFOR
  2. I wonder if Lester is planning for a newscast from Florida.
  3. It's America's performance, or lack thereof.
  4. I have attached this map of Arkansas showing each county in relation to their DMA. There are 7 DMAs within The Natural State and are as follows: Purple: Memphis - DMA 50 Magenta: Little Rock - DMA 58 Brown: Springfield, MO - DMA 75 Green: Texarkana - DMA 83 Blue: Fort Smith - DMA 98 Pink: El Dorado - DMA 137 Red: Jonesboro - DMA 182 As for the Fort Smith DMA, in addition to the Arkansas Counties, it does spill over into Le Flore & Sequoyah Counties in Oklahoma. As a matter of fact, KHBS' stick is located near Poteau, Oklahoma.
  5. There is one other station, KQCK RF 11 currently owned by the Christian Television Network. The drawback is that this station's stick is in Fort Collins and targets Denver. I wonder if anyone would have the guts to purchase this station and move it into Wyoming.
  6. The only companies that would be capable of making this work are Gray and Sinclair as they appear to have the most invested in the region. Here's what I see this working: NBC: KNOP & KNEP would become satellites of KSNB with Western Nebraska centric commercials and newscasts. CBS: The KOTA simulcast is replaced by a satellite of KOLN on the Sidney sick. ABC: The KSTF sick is potentially acquired by Sinclair and used as a satellite for KHGI. FOX: As with the other KHGI stations, KFXL would join the Scottsbluff stick, taking the FOX affiliation from KIIT. I can see under this scenario, this can end Western Nebraska's dependence on Denver with Scotts Bluff & Cherry joining the newly enlarged DMA.
  7. IDK, you need to take that one up with Nielsen. I used a Nielsen map I found on a Google search. Nebraska is not much better as seen here. The Red is Scotts Bluff County, the Denver Counties are in Orange, Cherry County is in the Sioux Falls, SD DMA while the Sioux City, IA Counties are in Purple.
  8. Since we're talking about television on Wyoming, I made this color coded map showing which TV market each county is currently assigned. Key: Red = Cheyenne DMA 197 Green = Casper DMA 198 Orange = Denver DMA 17 Blue = Rapid City DMA 170 Purple = Billings DMA 167 Gold = Idaho Falls DMA 162 Pink = Salt Lake City DMA 30 The reason I made this is to see whether the Cheyenne and Casper should merge to create one Wyoming centric market. I just wonder if it's feasible for the Denver market counties to be annexed to create such a market. Don't get me started on Sheridan County being an exclave of the Rapid City DMA, or that the Cheyenne is an emclave of the Denver DMA.
  9. As of the time of this reply, the image is still up on Williams' web site of the station he hoped to acquire.
  10. Will Legacy Broadcasting continue to run these Wyoming stations as is? The reason why I'm asking is that if you review their profile, all their stations were picked up from a Gray garage sale and are now running that H&I, or some other, junk.
  11. Yep! It appears that KGWC will meet the fate of KFXF, KJCT, WAGT, WIFR, KSPR, KXJB, KVTV > KYLX, & WFXS > WZAW, down on their luck full power stations rescued by Gray and converted to low power status in order to avoid possible closure and satisfy FCC regulations.
  12. Using RabbitEars as my reference, Gray purchased: K16JI-D RF 16 -326' 12.6kW K18JQ-D RF 18 -326' 2.3kW These appear to be fill-in translators serving the immediate Casper area. The one I mentioned earlier today, KSBF-LD RF 36 1,792' 15kW, is apparently being constructed to be the "new" KGWC. When the dust settles in Casper, I can see the following: The current, soon to be donated, RF 14, starts their new programming with a new call sign mapping to PSIP 36 The under construction RF 36 signs on as KGWC, PSIP 14, CBS programming OTA viewers in the Casper area get the proverbial rescan advisory and number to call and complain
  13. As per RabbitEars, Gray has an application to build a LD station on RF 36 in Casper, KSBF-LD. They are seeking permission to build the station at 1,792’ 15kW. EDIT: Click here to see the signal contours of the current KGWC & KSBF-LD
  14. You got that right, Atlanta is DMA 9 while the largest Gray station, WVLT, is in DMA 61. If Howell wants a station closer to Atlanta, give Morris Multimedia a call, they have WMGT, NBC Macon, DMA 120. BTW, Morris' largest station is in Lexington, KY, DMA 63, where a confilct would exist. Excluding Lexington, all other Morris stations are in DMAs under 90.
  15. NewsCenter Maine, WCSH/WLBZ, has a new set! Photos courtesy of their Facebook page.
  16. With Super Bowl LII behind us and the XXIII Olympic Winter Games about to get underway, there're are currently 4 NBC affiliates, by my count, currently in a dispute with a MPVD. Each of the following stations are in DMA 160 or lower: KTEN vs. DISH - Serving Lake Texoma DMA 160 KPVI vs. Spectrum - Serving East Idaho DMA 162 KYMA vs. Spectrum - Serving the Imperial Valley DMA 166 KIEM vs. Spectrum - Serving California's North Coast DMA 195 These are the results of the ongoing disputes between Lockwood vs. DISH, and Northwest Broadcasting vs. Charter. If there are any other disputes, please let our community know.
  17. Just in time for the Super Bowl - Newscenter1 (KNBN) is back on DIRECTV
  18. The new TEGNA websites have made Central Texas and the Brazos Valley, completing the NBC affiliates. All they need are the graphics.
  19. Meanwhile, DIRECTV customers in the Black Hills and DISH customers along the shores of Lake Texoma are now in jeopady of missing out on the Super Bowl and the Olympics as retransmission squabbles between DIRECTV-Rapid Broadcasting and DISH-Lockwood Broadcasting continue. Also, DIRECTV is apparently still without KFVE in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
  20. One long national nightmare is over - America Spirit Media Reaches Deal With Directv Courtesy of KAUZ - CBS Wichita Falls, TX-Lawton, OK
  21. We're now waiting for conversions in Baylor-land and at Texas A&M-land.
  22. So has the Treasure Valley, graphics too. If you're scoring at home the new TEGNA website layouts have nearly been rolled out to all the NBC affaliates. As of this posting the following TEGNA NBC regions have yet to see the new layout: Northwest Oregon Golden Triangle Texas - Yes, I am aware that NBC is a subchannel station here. Central Texas Brazos Valley None of TEGNA's stations not affiliated with NBC have the new websites as of yet.
  23. As per Wikipedia, once KYOU-DT2 joins NBC, there will only be four DMA's left in the nation that will not an in market NBC affaiate: DMA 175 - Harrisonburg, VA - Receives NBC programming, repeaters, from WVIR in Charlottesville, VA DMA 199 - Mankato, MN - Receives NBC programming, repeater, from KARE in Minneapolis, MN DMA 206 - Presque Isle, ME - Receives NBC programming, Cable only, from WLBZ in Bangor, ME DMA 208 - Alpena, MI - Received NBC programming from, Cable only, from WPBN in Traverse City, MI Upon review, from Rabbit Ears, each market has no room for an OTA NBC affiliate at this time.
  24. The new TEGNA websites have arrived in Denver, Jacksonville, Maine, and Phoenix!
  25. Correct me if I'm worng, but doesn't WRDE outsource its newscasts to INN?
