So I randomly came across WLBT's website, and their About Us page had this across the top. It looks they'll be the next to get the WMC/KLTV look...

Yes, I think that is what I mean. It looks unfinished and its awkward animations and pauses. I am wondering if the larger markets are getting a more "pizzazz" package, while smaller markets, something lesser. But, it doesn't surprise me with Gray. I always thought the WRDW graphics were awkward and horrendously bland also.
Knowing how cheap most of Gray's graphics packages look, this was the only thing that I feared would happen to the ex-Raycom stations when the merger was announced; and it's already happening in a couple of markets (Memphis & East Texas)

Came across these two stock After Effects templates that are blatant ripoffs of a couple Renderon-designed looks.
First is a knockoff of WPTV's 2008 HD look, and it is BAD:

Second is based off KCTV's 2015 look:

I feel like Hothaus made these graphics, judging by how these are animated.
(Yes, I know it’s unbelievable)

That's not a knockoff. That's the real package. They just don't have Gotham installed on their CG machines.
That's NOT the real package.

According to this, it appears that Sinclair "must-runs" may have found their way into more prominent positions in the regular newscasts at KOMO-TV Seattle, with one running during a 6 pm newscast:

Two possible reasons why this happened:
1. Sinclair executives are just now finding out about KOMO's "must-run" scheme; they threatened to fire the news director if the segments didn't come on during times when people are actually watching.
2. Ratings for KOMO's 6pm newscasts are taking a nosedive for some reason, so they're temporarily dumping the "must-runs" there until ratings pick back up.

Bumping a month-old post, but KRBC is probably not a knock-off. A now-defunct company did the look for WVIT and WVTM at the same time, and they also did a few other NBC affiliates. Here's WVTM from 1999
Hate to bump this thread, but what was that graphics company in question? And what was their website?

Don't hold your breath. When Scripps gets new graphics they will more than likely appear on WFTS first since that's where their hub is.
Or WPTV, as that's where they tend to start out.

Now that was just extreme.

This open actually reminds me of WPVI's opens, with all the random footage.
