  1. WCPO launched the new graphics today at noon.
  2. I guess "Shop Scripps" already went live... but not as a revival of "Ion Shop," but rather as one of those paid steals-and-deals segments during newscasts. Saw one today during WCPO's 4PM newscast.
  3. On election night 2024, they pre-empted NewsNation's coverage on their CW affiliates in favor of Sinclair's own election night coverage from the National News Desk: At this point, I'm surprised Nexstar isn't purging network branding from their stations' logos (excluding CW stations, of course) like Gray was doing.
  4. KCCI now has the new graphics. WAPT and WJCL appear to be the two remaining holdouts.
  5. Allen Media Group somehow had the budget to (at least) consult with, of all design agencies, Vivid Zero/Defiant to come up with some drafts of a standardized look for its stations. There was a (now locked) thread on here a while ago where someone claimed that Allen stations would be getting a mandated look, and these could possibly be the package in question. These screenshots came from Defiant's most recent studio reel of news graphics.
  6. The Paramount-Skydance merger has closed yesterday. The combined company is now called "Paramount Skydance Corporation" though its consumer-facing name will still just be "Paramount (A Skydance Corporation)" Their logo is officially the same one as Paramount Global with a Skydance byline appended to it.
  7. Is Hearst still moving forward with this supposed new look? It's been nearly a year since it debuted in Fort Myers, yet it has never been rolled out beyond WBBH/WZVN...
  8. You'd be on the mark because they've already got a case study up... https://defiantla.com/work/scripps-news-group-rebrand/
  9. Even then, Sinclair's glass/curves look didn't make it to all of their stations before it got replaced.
  10. Where did you find these at?
  11. And there's a typo in the announcement....
  12. Looks like Hearst partnered with Vivid Zero on the new diagrid look. Their 2025 studio reel contains brief clip of what appears to be WCVB's version of the open at the 0:32 second mark. https://www.facebook.com/100057501037117/videos/1278638849916517/
  13. Came across this on Logopedia: Los Angeles area station KVME's 2012 ripoff of the late '90s/early '00s Hearst-Argyle camera graphics (specifically, the station ID)
  14. Apparently, TheGrio's affiliate base has been dropping like flies, and according to someone over on RadioDiscussions, it might be shutting down altogether (is there any official confirmation of this?).
  15. More stations have picked up these new opens.....
  16. It makes me wonder if Gray is now starting reconsider its "no-network-in-station-logo" mandate, considering that... Regarding stations with no network logo since the "mandate" started: 99.5% of NBC affiliates, half of the CBS affiliates, 1.5% of ABC affiliates, and no Fox affiliates (and this is without counting duopolies).... and it's been stuck this way since February. And since then, the rollout of GrayONE seems to have slowed down to a crawl, where station launches were much more frequent before then. And going back to bullet #1, now KKTV is keeping the CBS eye in their logo despite being the latest to switch to GrayONE only two weeks ago (as of this writing). Going slightly off-topic: WXIX has been starting to use the new GrayONE weather background behind its 7-day forecasts since at least last week. Screengrab is from last night's 11PM news.
  17. And potentially split up Paramount and CBS yet again should this deal go through... ^^^ That quote is from the Deadline article.
  18. This really flew under the radar... Apparently, Florida 24 Network is no more as of this month. (according to the Logopedia pages for them and WHDT) Also, florida24network.com now redirects to the Scripps News website.
  19. WCPO uses their normal time/temp bug at 4:00 (that would be the top image). Not sure about WLEX, but WCPO's 4:00 show appears to be at least 30% live, 70% Scrippscast, so maybe that's why?
  20. Cincinnati media blogger John Kiesewetter did a piece on Scripps' pre-taped autopilot newscasts, particularly WCPO's 4PM shows: https://www.wvxu.org/media/2023-11-01/wcpo-tv-news-shows-scrippscast-tvkiese So apparently, they're using proprietary technology (!) called "Scrippscast" to do this. To me, it basically just sounds like glorified control room automation that's designed to cut costs and nothing more. Regarding WCPO, it's just their 4PM newscasts and their weekly FC Cincinnati sports show* using the "Scrippscast" software at the moment, but the article mentions that their Saturday 11PM newscasts will be next to go the mostly-anchorless route. And according to their news director (quoted at the end of the article), possibly more... *I should also point out that FC Cincinnati Weekly looked more-or-less like a traditional sports chat show, complete with pre-taped packages, last I checked.
  21. It's been over half a year into the rebrand and these are the only stations using the new logo so far.
  22. Actually, I just caught a promo for Telemundo Cincinnati which is, indeed, on WBQC 25.1. https://www.telemundocincinnati.com/ According to Wikipedia, they made the switch two weeks ago on July 27.
  23. Someone speculated over here that EGAD may have been the ones who did the "flying TV screens" syndicated look that was used by KMOV, WLWT, WNYT and others. However, I don't see any stations who used that look on this client list. So it's still a mystery regarding who made those...
  24. Aren't they already starting to do this on a local level with some newscasts? (read: on (most?) local 4pm newscasts where "The NOW" used to be, most of it is pre-recorded national material from Scripps News)
  25. I found a ripoff of the 2015 KCTV graphics... https://www.behance.net/gallery/161927613/NEWS-TITLE-SUCH-TV-DL-STUDIO https://www.behance.net/gallery/161925491/HEADLINES-SUCH-TV-DL-STUDIO https://www.behance.net/gallery/161923247/NEWS-ALERT-SUCH-TV-DL-STUDIO
