Looking at the setup Gray has in Anchorage, per RabbitEars:

CBS is on KTUU's spectrum as 5.11

RF22 is now KYES-LD with CBS on 5.1

RF7 is now KAUU with 5.2 Antenna TV, 5.3 Circle, and 5.4 MyN

I did not see it in the document, but could the FCC force Gray to give CBS back to GCI, who'll have to resume operations on KTVA?

Since the FCC describes the current arrangement as meeting regulatory muster, I would think no. The fine will be the end of it.

It took 12 days after the network launch but the Bally Sports website has finally went live! Still no update on the Fox Sports Go app which is now all thats left of the Fox brand on the regional sports networks. https://www.ballysports.com/

They're trying to make a new national sports website instead of just a promotional tool for the networks.

It seems like NBC SPORTS NW focuses more on Portland and Oregon teams, whereas ROOT SPORTS NW focuses more on Seattle  and Washington teams, with the Portland Timbers being the only exception to this rule.

If Seattle ever gets another NBA team, will NBC Sports NW disappear from WA cable lineups?

Root NW has a TV everywhere stream/app but Comcast doesn't have an agreement to access the stream, only Directv/ATT and a handful of smaller cable subscribers can stream ROOT.

When I had Directv they had a similar app as Comcast but there was several channels missing from the streaming portion likely because Directv didn't have streaming rights. Its likely the same thing with Comcast and Root NW.

Since Comcast is a cable company, they are able to offer their entire comport of channels for streaming within the wifi reach of a cable modem (the "Xfinity in-home network"). Their out-of-home streaming is far more limited, and doesn't include Root NW.

This is a good point. The new NHL team in Seattle the Kraken just weeks ago announced that there games will be airing on Root Northwest, the only way to stream it is by paying $80/m for ATT streaming service, Comcast customers (the major cable company for most of WA and OR) don’t even have the ability to stream the channel. This is a team that is connected with Amazon and other high tech companies in Seattle and is a market with a significant amount of cable cutters. If there is a team in any sport anymore aware of OTT it is the Kraken.

Having the ability to watch non NFL pro teams on OTA is wishful thinking at this point, it’s not happening.

Comcast has a streaming website. Live feeds and everything. It may only work for cable video customers, but it does exist.

Skimming thru FCC filings + based on reasons bolded above, it appears the Univision affiliation + branding may move to WSTE, leaving WLII without an affiliate. It may signal a return to independent a la Teleonce (previous branding until 2002) Some of Uni/Unimas programming could go thru WAPA, while remain an indy. Similar to '90s + '00s when Telemundo PR had some Televisa novelas while WAPA had Uni-network programs (Primer Impacto, Cristina, Despierta Am.) + some Venevision programs. Cisneros groups had interest on ch. 4 back then.

    From another source, translated:

    https://www.tvboricuausa.com/2020/03/incierto-futuro-univision-puerto-rico-venta-canales-11-9-y-12.html

"From what is clear from the document, although not textually, Univisión PR would be passing at some point to the WSTE-DT signal (channel 7), while channels 11, 9 and 12 would be operated by another company (once) time the sale is consummated."

Q: What will happen with WAPA Deportes (sports subchannel) in terms of content? Will it rely more on TUDN + less on deals with NBA + MLB? (via ESPN/Turner/MLBN)

Could WAPA launch as a sub-channel on Univision-owned stations on the mainland in markets with a large Puerto Rican population?

There's a surprise in the Univision sale filing: because some of the owners have attributable interests in WAPA, they are divesting third-rated WLII and not ninth-rated WSTE.

I wonder if the sale includes the Uni affiliation, or will they just move it to WSTE.

Regarding the Sinclair-AT&T issue, does anyone know whether the fate of the RSNs is at stake in these talks?

Furthermore, as  DIRECTV customer, I know where they can possibly place the Cubs' Marquee channel, Channel 666.

The Fox RSNs have different contracts that were negotiated by the previous owners. Any disputes involving them won't happen for a while. This will almost certainly effect talks to begin carriage of Marquee, a new network.

Another question is can it pass the House, since there's no indication if the votes are there.

    It's just a joke, dude.

You think I don't know that?

There is the theoretical chance that Byron Allen running stations with only his shows (whose production costs have already been paid for) could be profitable enough to survive low ratings, but it's more likely he'll run them as normal stations with outside syndicated product.

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if Ed Ansin put some weird thing in the Trust for WHDH/WLVI and WSVN prohibiting their station from ever affiliating with or being purchased by NBC or any form of it in the future.  You know like The 700 Club airing on ABC Family years after numerous ownership changes.

The 700 Club thing is just a perpetually valid contract. Disney offered CBN a year's worth of the money they get from airing the show and its semi-annual telethons to buy it out, but Pat declined.

  12. How does AT&T get to keep HBO? Last I checked, its still a part of Time Warner, albeit with plenty of autonomy from Turner.

The Justice Department's suit in its appeal form only seeks for AT&T to sell Turner. This interview with Makan Delhaim stated Justice has no problems with AT&T owning Warner Bros. or HBO.

  13. Here's the thing: CBS bundles Showtime into its carriage agreements, whereas HBO has a seperate carriage agreement for its channels from the rest of WarnerMedia. On another note, this comes at the worst time for AT&T, which means that now the DoJ now has fuel to fight the merger.

It could be worse if the Justice Department's case wasn't predicated entirely on Turner Broadcasting (AT&T will get to keep HBO even if Justice wins).

  14. It's downright ridiculous. These are premium a-la-carte channels that people spend money on (like $15/mo PER channel), and if the provider yanks the access (of course it's Dish, which is notorious for this), then the paying customers SHOULD be properly reimbursed.

Dish is reportedly giving its customers statement credits.
