  1. As I found out from the UK equivalent of TVNT, Markie Martin is now co-anchor of Morning In America, and the show will be expanding into the 6am hour on June 12.
  2. As of this morning, Sunday Morning has received a new graphical intro.
  3. The Pittsburgher in me is coming out saying: Can some of yinz stop complaining for once? Yes, WBBM pulling a WCBS isn't as exciting as exciting as them using call-letters would be. Just because the verbal branding hasn't changed doesn't mean the product itself is. And the mish-mash of the font for the 2's between the bug & website and the open is driving my graphic designer brain up a wall.
  4. With the active shooter situation in Atlanta, Natasha Zouves is anchoring right now with Keleigh Beeson popping in occasionally from the newsroom with new information.
  5. Alas, the name of the former 1-minute online livestreams returns!
  6. The current GM of WJZ, Kathy Hostetter (former news director of KDKA), knows what she’s doing. And the former GM of WJZ (from 2017 until last year), Audra Swain knew what she was doing.
  7. I'm looking at Logopedia, and the new '3' that KYW is using looks to be a redrawn version of the '3' used from 1963-1965 when KYW was still WRCV (and affiliated with NBC).
  8. Reddit maybe? And that's good to know that the weekend newscasts are being prepped.
  9. Having lived in Pittsburgh for 8 years, and in the greater Pittsburgh area for almost 19 years, I agree with your statement. Not many people would freak out.
  10. Minus KYW and plus KCAL, it’s beginning a trend with the former Westinghouse stations.
  11. Because of false threats of active shooters at schools in the Pittsburgh area, KDKA is in breaking news mode, which means the logo box and the time/temperature/ticker are in red.
  12. I’m thinking Gayle’s CNN thing is gonna work like how Anderson Cooper does 60 Minutes.
  13. KDKA modified the end of the opens so the center of the eye is now the gold and the rest of the eye is white (like the other O&Os with the new graphics).
  14. KDKA updated the “CBS News Pittsburgh” box, the time/temp/ticker boxes around 6:30pm to the gold color used this morning. Not sure if it was a technical goof or if people complained about the ticker being too dark.
  15. With the KDKA version of the graphics, I could do without the immense amounts of black and gold. The version everyone else is starting to use is fine enough.
  16. With the graphics (and news branding) switch, KDKA is now the third station with the new weather graphics after WWJ and KCNC.
  17. A lot of them were uploaded today, so pretty much all of the ones from today.
  18. I saw. I keep watching the videos from the KDKA YouTube channel to see.
  19. I just saw a promo for “Talk Pittsburgh”, which premieres tomorrow at 3pm, and it shows the new KDKA callsign logo, which looks exactly like the one for KPIX. So, KDKA might be switching over to the new news branding tomorrow.
  20. Just sales taxes on top of that if I remember correctly.
  21. I had a feeling that it would go up (it’s been 3 years since the price went up last). Part of it is probably Nexstar being Nexstar, and then the other part of it is probably due to the sports networks stuff.
  22. And the new theme sounds like it’s an evolution of the current theme.
  23. Can we get back on topic please?
  24. Like I said yesterday, the black and gold is probably being relegated to the new flash-cam monitor in the newsroom.
  25. I'm also thinking that maybe the Black & Gold is only going to be seen on the flash cam monitor graphics. Because aside from the past few years with the Black & Gold variant of the 2016 graphics, KDKA has followed the CBS O&O graphics mandates very closely.
