Update: WLNY's 9PM news will now be known as CBS News New York Now as of the 18th. (That's a lot of Ns...)
Sad since they just started using the WLNY name during that newscast again not too long ago, but it was probably inevitable at this point.
Can't they just shorten the name to CBS (location) Now? It's much easier to say.

I will say the EWN team has been tributing him on Twitter and Facebook, but yes, the lack of an on-air tribute is disappointing. WCBS (and Dana Tyler) gave Michele Marsh one.
Another WABC alum, Lori Stokes also had a tribute to Robb on her Instagram:

Fox reneged it obligations on servicing NJ and Optimum must have some franchise obligations to the NJ town they service. How can they get away with this? Are they breaking agreements, of course they Are, any retribution no. Why is the happening? Politicians are being greased - both sides/ they all suck
The FCC repealed the "Main Studio" rule- where they had to have a physical location within the state they are licensed to. There were politicians like NJ Sentator Frank Lautenberg, who called for an investigation on Fox's ownership of WWOR, which did occur but Fox would keep ownership of the station.
In other News 12 news, Newsday has reported that Elisa DiStefano has left News 12 Long Island

I know NYC stations carry stories for northern NJ and I am sure Philadelphia that stations carry stories for southern NJ - that said, I am surprised that there is not a NJ news program that is produced by owner groups that have stations in NYC and Philadelphia - was this ever tried before? It can be run on one of their sub-channels
South NJ used to have an NBC affiliate, WMGM 40, which produced local news until Comcast pulled the affiliation from there. WMGM was in the viewing area of their Philly duop of WCAU/WWSI. Members of WMGM would end up creating SNJ Today.

So on top of this and Channel 4 to go private, What would the UK television scene look like when all this is done?

3K will be history for WNBC!
The station along with WNJU/Telemundo will be moving to newly constructed studios
on the 2nd Floor of 30 Rock. Not sure of the date for the move.
Early reports say 2023, after WNJU moves in

I would forgo any side brick/partition and extra accessories because it could distract from the visual. You can't go wrong with a simple skyline shot.

This could be interesting for anyone who works on a digital team. I actually agree with this BTW. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2022/5/5/we-warned-you
If that does come to pass, then the stations better beef up their website and apps.

Does anyone here watch the Fox5 evening news? Their weather reports are odd. One report they show the meteorologist fully height with the weather map like the other stations do. But then one segment per hour they show the map double the height of the weather person, kind of like they do on Fox Weather. I was going to ask Audrey but I'm not sure that she answers messages, but noticed they do it iwth Nick Gregory too, so many I'll try reaching out to him
Perhaps they may be trying a different presentation with the weather. How often had this happened?

Either way; that's why I said it'll probably happen. Terrible that those employees might lose their jobs soon though.
Honestly, they should just move any remaining programming to HLN to bolster that channel's programming

While looking at their website because of the new graphics and branding, I came across their "Contact Us" page, where, to my surprise, there were new names listed as "CEO" and "COO".
Vince Bodiford and Chris Anderson are the CEO and COO of "NewsMakers Media", which appears to be a PR firm. From their website:
Vince's LinkedIn also lists NewsNet and "NewsMakers Media" as a subsidiary of "Golden Media, Inc"
So, uh, is NewsNet (sorry... NEWSnet) now just a PR firm wearing a "News.... AS IT USED 'TA BE!!!" mask? This makes the purchase even weirder imo.
They (as well as their predecesor MI News 26) has a habit of running PR pieces masquerading as news reports, so I'm guess it's no surprise that a PR firm is in charge though. My question is how are they still using their staff as byline for AP wire services? Can't they get in trouble for that?

The Mick Mulvaney hiring is proving to be quite the issue at CBS News. Co-President Neeraj Khemlani said hiring Mulvaney would help CBS get access to the republicans if/when they take back the U.S House this Fall. People don’t seem to happy about the hiring, especially over certain actions of his while in office.
I find it interesting that Anne-Marie Green didn’t mention what administration he worked for, introducing him as “a former Office of Management and Budget director”.
Full Story: https://www.washingtonpost.com/media/2022/03/30/cbs-mulvaney-backlash/
I don’t want this to turn political so please don’t make it that, I know the story as a whole is but I’m trying to focus on the impact it has at CBS News and it’s already lackluster image.
Placing this in the Mornings thread since that’s where the conversation reportedly happened.Honestly, it should be concerning to CBS management that Kemlani seems to be on the wrong side of the headlines quite frequently -- from trying to get Norah O'Donnell out of the Evening News and now this-- this can't be a good look for CBS.

Initially, when CBS first bought the station, CBS said they would strengthen 10/55's news department and compete with News 12 LI. https://www.newsday.com/business/cbs-inks-deal-to-buy-long-island-s-wlny-55-u08340
However, outside of a short-lived morning show going up against GDNY and the Pix Morning News, 10/55 was sent to West 57th, where it's been ever since.
Some years later, it was alleged that 10/55 was bought by CBS so Peter Dunn could have membership access to a golf club.
