Yeah, upon seeing more of these pictures, it's not a beta test--it must be what they are going with. Yikes. I don't see how this works for a minute in markets like in California or Florida. This gfx just looks tired and bland. I expect this of a podcast, not a major station group like Scripps.

My college's intro had more elements to it than what Scripps has come up with. The L3s look like something done in PowerPoint. Not good.

Looking at those pictures, I'm very disappointed. It's way too blue. And it's way too flat, but at least not as dastardly absent of design like Tegna. We'll see if Scripps improves this before rolling out to other stations. Like the question I previously raised, I suspect this is a beta test before the other stations get it. I can't speak to the music pkg since I'm only seeing pictures. And wait, is that a new set?

Most of the current gfx packages by Gray are pretty solid, but it amazes me how messed up the implementation can sometimes get.

I 100% agree. Both stations would suffer (especially WEAR and their Florida coverage) if a combined news operation/product is implemented. Plus, I think the WEAR brand has considerable value that would be lost if they went with a boring generic brand. Whether or not WEAR has any similar "major announcement" teasers running would be very telling whether this is what could be brewing. But, for all we know at the moment it could still be something completely different.

Have you seen anything similar to that on WEAR?

Well Quest airs as 480i on my local Tegna station. Wikipedia also lists the picture format for the Quest network as 480i. My thinking is that WBNS will keep MeTV, at least for now. I'd assume they would bump MeTV to a lower subchannel if they planned to remove them later on, unless they were contractually obligated to keep them on the .2 subchannel. Looks like the station you mentioned is WQMC-LD

In the last few days, a YouTube channel posted a large amount of KTLA's current music package...which is quite remarkable, considering that I don't recall this amount of that pkg being available to listen beforehand.

Wouldn't they want to make a big switch like that at the start of sweeps?

I don't see that abstract logo working for anything news, both local and national. It doesn't look serious enough for news. Perhaps if they "refined" that somewhat it could work, but that would be a huge bet (which is a big understatement). I'm sure that Fox management will carefully consider any decision regarding their logo. I don't think they are going to rush into any major change to their main logo branding. On a side note, I personally doubt we've seen the last of the searchlights. Time will tell, though.

I'm slightly surprised they are still updating anything in the studio, if it's true that they plan to move altogether in a few years.
