  1. Pete has to be one of the oldest employees still working for NBC News, so I'm not surprised about his retirement. I wonder who might replace him? Best of luck to him.
  2. It makes me wonder what will happen to certain personalities who are opinionated like Jim Acosta or Don Lemon or Brian Stelter?
  3. Probably the first time FX has aired any sports in a number of years.
  4. I know many people dislike Chuck Todd. With the show being moved to 1:00 from 4:00, and now moving from cable to streaming, I have to wonder if this is another step that may Todd may eventually leave MTP and NBC News all together.
  5. Does he still have the AT&T job?
  6. I wonder if they're bringing back the smooth jazz permanently? So many great memories of old-school TWC. So much better than the generic music they've used for close to 10 years.
  7. It was supposed to launch sometime in 2021, but I haven't heard anything new in months. Maybe Byron thinks it might not work after all?
  8. I remember when Matlock was on WGN America. That would probably get better ratings.
  9. I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. I really have liked the idea of Kristen having her own hour as the presidential debate put her on the map. I feel like you've made it in journalism if you moderated one.
  10. I always thought Buck was going to be at FOX forever, but this is a pretty big hire for sure. Steve Levy can probably focus on hockey now. I've heard Al Michaels may end up going to FOX, although it seems like many people want Gus Johnson as the lead NFL voice. I wonder who will now be the lead MLB voice for FOX?
  11. I met her a few times. Very nice lady. I wish the best of luck to her in retirement.
  12. They first started using the superhero graphics on a part-time basis last season. I don't mind the driver design, but the overall cartoon look just feels weird on a sports broadcast.
  13. Well, Disney's the one company that lobbies to extend copyright law, and ABC has filed strikes on people who've uploaded classic soaps in the past, even though they aired just once. With streaming in full swing, I wonder if they'll ever release those seasons, even if it's a lot of episodes. If it's a newscast that aired that once that was the result of the account being banned, that's petty on their part.
  14. This isn't the first time he's been suspended. He was suspended quite a few years ago as well, and he might have had another account suspended as well. I assume it's copyright related, although I don't know who filed the strikes.
  15. You think Disney Channel will go away entirely? If so, it would be the end of an era. I know in other countries it's been shut down. Losing VH1 and TV Land would also stink as they were both very popular for years. MTV2, BET Her and NickMusic were never that popular to begin with.
  16. I guess NBCSN had a very basic shutdown. They aired a rerun of a Mecum Auto Auction, followed by a promo for the Premier League moving to USA, and then a blank slide telling viewers to watch the Premier League on USA. I would've hoped they did something bigger, but I'm not surprised.
  17. Blame it on 90 years of copyright terms in this country.
  18. Yes.
  19. Agreed. Larry was the face of CNN for decades. Why not put a show similar to it in the 9 PM hour? It would be different than what FOX and MSNBC do in that timeslot and CNN pretty much rehashes the same headlines with a different anchor every hour.
  20. Maybe Diane Sawyer returns?
  21. It looks like there are no plans for Tegna stations to return to Dish at this point. A few weeks ago, Dish filed an FCC complaint arguing that TEGNA was not negotiating in good faith. TEGNA calls Dish's claims "Baseless". Charlie Ergen said earlier today that the loss of TEGNA stations might be permanent, and they have a better shot of reaching a long term deal with Sinclair, as they're larger. Sinclair has agreed to several extensions since August.
  22. Put Live PD on and maybe revive its spinoffs and Newsnation will be in the top 10 in the ratings. It would probably one of the few things needed to keep a cable/satellite subscription as it would offer something no other network or streaming service would have. Do the 9-midnight slot Fridays and Saturdays and re-air it from midnight-3 AM, and maybe run highlights of last week's shows before the new episode airs, just like A&E did. The ratings would be on par with live sports that evening. It was that way until its cancellation.
  23. Such a shame. Remy was not just a legend in Boston, but baseball broadcasting in general. He will be sorely missed. R.I.P. Jerry.
  24. Unfortunately, Norah is struggling in the ratings as well. I wonder which news anchor has the best chance of getting the CBSEN out of it's long-troubled 3rd place rating?
  25. Bring back Scott Pelley or Jeff Glor. I wonder where Norah could end up?
