  1. Shep would have a very different kind of show from Lawerence although I suppose that’s a possibility.
  2. That’s odd. Honestly with stories of people getting seriously ill with the delta variant I would be hesitant about eating indoors right now. Makes sense and with the delta variant that may become more common.
  3. Maybe Shepard can take over for Brian on msnbc at 11. After all he never had any major scandals.
  4. Maybe this is better for another thread although it could be a sign of what’s to come?
  5. Bill recently said in a post for this 18th anniversary co-anchoring with Liz that he hopes they co-anchor together for another 18 years. Not sure if he’s serious about that or if he is.
  6. I see your point. In all fairness I think Chuck Scarborough works 4 days a week and Bill Ritter does as well during the summer.
  7. I’m going to post some more about Brittany in the speculation 9000 thread. I hope some if you will respond.
  8. I’d want my money’s worth. My understanding was that he has a 10 hour a day/4 day per week workweek. Brittany did the weather this morning.
  9. I would think for the money he makes that he could work on a day off on occasion. Most of the other weather people on WABC and at other NYC stations work on days they are scheduled to be off during major weather stories. Now what will be interesting is what happens once Brittany Bell officially has a newscast that she does the weather for. Sam is full time because he works 10 hours a day 4 days a week and opposed to most of the others who work 8 hours a day for 5 days a week. If Brittany takes Sams place at noon it will be interesting to see how he gets to 10 hours a day for 4 days a week as I don’t see him doing mornings for 5 days a week. Now I have to expect someone to say “who cares?” While it doesn’t impact my life id think that WABC has better ways to use their money than on Sam to only work a few hours a week. I don’t dislike him but he’s not that special. WABC did okay while he was gone from 2006 to 2019.
  10. Exactly. While Sam didn’t take the day off today if he doesn’t work Fridays today would have been a good day for him to work on his day off given the weather event happened. Bill has appeared on weekends during a breaking news event and Lee has for major weather events.
  11. I would think Sam will be a part of the coverage given the potential for serious damage from the storm. Was Lee on at all today? What if we don’t want to? Are you the moderator?
  12. So is WCBS. My guess is Sam, Amy and maybe Brittany will be a part of the coverage.
  13. It may be Sam because of the Tropical Storm that’s expected tomorrow morning.
  14. I think I remember Sam saying something about Lee training him on how to use the equipment and that Sam trained Lee with that when Lee first joined WABC while Sam was chief meteorologist way back in 1996. Could be that unless Brittany is going to be on at 5pm.
  15. My guess is weekend mornings although maybe she will have a weekday spot. An outside possibility is that they have two meteorologists for some of their newscasts. WCBS briefly did that in 2002.
  16. And I thought it was odd that they had someone on solo for the hour broadcasts. Would it cost them extra money to have a reporter fill in?
  17. Maybe Brittany will be on during the week although I don’t think that would be right for Amy and Jeff. Maybe cause of the Delta variant?
  18. My guess is she will start off air to learn how all the equipment will work. I am not surprised about no one leaving.
  19. 23 years ago today Bill Ritter and Sandra Bookman anchored a newscast on WABC for the first time. Lee Goldberg did the weather for that newscast.
  20. Makes sense although would Sam have a 40 hour work week?
  21. Interesting and perhaps a sign of what may be to come.
