Normally, I wouldn't make note of fill-ins, but I thought they were pretty interesting tonight. 4:00 was Brian, Sarah, and Karen; 5:00 was Maggie, Alicia, and Karen; 6:00 and 6:30 were Brian and Karen; and it seems like 10:00 and 11:00 will be Christie and Karen. I've never seen Karen on in the evening before. Looking back on the website, Payton filled in for her this morning. Cecily posted on Facebook that her and her husband were going to a wedding, and people in the comments say it was Brittany Boyer's wedding, so that must be why.

Oh, that makes sense, thanks. Normally I'm not watching it anyway, but I happened to today. Although, either way, it's still relatively recent.
-
I don't know when this happened, but Philly Live is now a full half-hour, starting at 11:30 AM rather than 11:45. Most of the NBC O&Os had already been doing this, but 10 was one of the few that had a 15-minute lifestyle show.

I think so, too, though Jennifer Joyce did do the opposite.

The Fox 29 News/Good Day Philadelphia Thread
phillynewslover replied to Jess's topic in Philadelphia News
FOX 29 is making quite a few changes to its daytime schedule for the fall season. BAM and Good Day Uncut are moving from 2:00 PM to 11:00 AM, and Sherri and Jennifer Hudson show are moving back another hour to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM. Judge Judy is moving to 2:00 PM, and the 4:00 PM hour will have a new show called Behind the News, the description for the first episode of which is "The best of 'What's for Dinner!'" 25 Words or Less is losing its 1:00 PM timeslot, and it'll be stuck at 1:00 AM now. -
CBS Ending Late Show after 2025-26 Season
phillynewslover replied to Georgie56's topic in General TV
I just got the notification from AP. What a shame. Colbert is the only late night host I still enjoy watching, other than Jon Stewart. -
CBS Network Programming Outage (7/15/2025)
phillynewslover replied to Route66Fan's topic in General TV
I can't believe WREG still says "it's 10 o'clock; do you know where your children are?" -
Is there any reason that we know of for why the start of Action News Mornings was pushed back to 4:30 earlier this year? Not that I have a problem with it, but it's kind of odd for them to get rid of a newscast. NBC10 got rid of the whole 4:00 AM hour around the same time, so their morning show is only two hours now. Good Day is the only show that still starts at 4:00. Are stations in other markets also cutting back on their morning shows?

PHL17 is simulcasting 6abc's coverage of the parade. I think this is the first time I've seen them broadcast Action News outside of the 10:00 show.
-
Congratulations to him! I knew he would be ending up at WPVI eventually, especially after seeing that he had left WTVD recently.
-
I don't think so, but, even if he doesn't, he could still be a good last minute fill-in, considering how much time he spends in front of the green screen.
-
No, it's always been Sunday through Friday. I always thought it was odd as well. Another interesting fact is that the Sunday edition was an hour long well before the weekday editions. Sundays were an hour as far back as the '90s, but the weekdays didn't expand to 12:30 until 2014.

Philadelphia: KYW: No changes, although back in July they expanded their 9:00 AM newscast to an hour and moved Drew Barrymore to 3:00 PM (previously filled by Family Feud, which still airs on WPSG). WPVI: No changes. WCAU: No changes. WPHL: GMFB: Overtime replaces Jerry Springer in the 10:00 AM hour starting September 2. Jerry's final week airs at 11:00 AM before the show leaves syndication on September 9. Later in the day, Judy Justice takes over the 5:00 PM hour starting September 9. Young Sheldon and one run of The Big Bang Theory currently air in the slot. YS moves to 1:30 AM (replacing Two and a Half Men, which moves to 2:30 AM), while the third run of TBBT moves to 11:00 PM (replacing Modern Family, which moves to 7:30 PM, replacing The Goldbergs, which reduces to one run). As Mom is leaving syndication, it's replaced in the 2:00 AM hour by Bob Hearts Abishola and Two and a Half Men. WTXF: The 2:00 PM repeat of the Good Day After Show is replaced by two shows from FOX Local: Good Day Uncut and FOX 29 Live. WPSG: Quite a few changes here. The Conners replaces The King of Queens in the 12:00 AM hour. 48 Hours moves from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM, replacing encores of Inside Edition and Entertainment Tonight Family Guy in the 4:00 AM hour is replaced by Funny You Should Ask and The Liquidator, while Bob's Burgers in the 5:00 AM hour is replaced by Forensic Justice and Top Secret Files: Declassified. IE and ET move to 6:00 AM. The Liquidator at 8:30 AM is replaced with an infomercial. People Puzzler moves to 9:30 AM from 6:30 PM. Flip Side takes over the 6:00 PM hour, replacing People Puzzler and Family Feud. True Crime News takes over the 9:00 PM hour (the 9:30 PM run is replaced with Crime Expose with Nancy O'Dell when that show debuts on September 23). Family Feud moves to the 10:00 PM hour, replacing Law & Order: SVU (which is leaving the station). WFMZ: Judy Justice and Judge Judy replace paid programming at 12:00 AM. Flip Side replaces an encore of 69 News: Berks Edition at 1:30 AM. An encore of iCRIME with Elizabeth Vargas replaces Who the Bleep is That? at 3:30 AM. Judge Judy replaces Court Cam (which is leaving the station) at 4:30 AM. The 7:30 PM run of Judge Judy is replaced by Judy Justice.

Alysa Bainbridge did the traffic for Gina Gannon today. She must be new, because I've never seen her on channel 6 before and she doesn't have a bio on the station website. She has been Miss Philadelphia and Miss Delaware, and also worked at WRDE in Salisbury.
-
That sounds about right. She doesn't really seem to have a specific place right now, so it wouldn't make sense to hire someone else. What is her schedule now? Does she just fill in? I feel like I mostly see her at 10:00 AM and noon.
-
I only caught a glimpse of the news this morning and was wondering why Chris Sowers was in the weather office and not in front of the green screen. I guess this explains it. Can't wait to see how the new (or "made over") set looks.
-
Interesting that Gray picked it up since they've been getting rid of syndicated shows on their stations for a while now. I guess it'll go well with iCrime and InvestigateTV+. And True Crime News is also launching this fall.
-
I'll miss The King of Queens in syndication. WPSG has been airing it for probably 20 years straight. I like American Housewife too, but that show was only in local syndication for two years. Also, I was expecting True Crime News to be a full hour (like Crime Watch Daily was), but the WBNX schedule has it sharing an hour with iCrime. I wonder where the FOX O&Os will be putting it.
-
Not to start listing all the times she's ever anchored, but I'm pretty sure she was also on solo last Sunday morning, so I agree that they could be trying to have her be another frequent fill-in.
-
Seems like they first started it on April 8.
-
I could see WTXF picking it up. They definitely have room on their schedule, considering they air the "Good Day After Show" at both 10 AM and 2 PM. GMFB could go at 10 with everything else moving back an hour and the GDAS replay being eliminated.
-
Well, Jerry is a host of The Talk. I guess it is a little odd considering the Fox connection (although, at least here in Philly, Pictionary airs before The Talk, not against it), but it's not as strange as it would be if they had the cast of The View on or something.
-
No 4pm show on streaming. I guess they're waiting until 5 when they're on TV.
-
I do like Kate and I'll miss seeing her in the evening but her personality is definitely better suited for the afternoon than the late evening. I'm not familiar with Bill Kelly, so I'll just have to wait and see.

The Ever-Evolving Gray Graphics Situation...Thread
phillynewslover replied to NEOMatrix's topic in Graphics
The KOLN graphics are really growing on me. For Gray graphics, they're terrific. Probably up there with the WOIO package, and the Meredith package (although technically that isn't Gray).
