Some more re-uploads: KIRO 11/23/90, partial, with a classic pairing of Aaron Brown, and the late Harry Wappler and Wayne Cody. and part of CBS News America Tonight from later that evening...RARE! Stu Seibel signs off from KIMA, 11/16/2007. I am so happy that I finally reuploaded this. Still alive and well retired in Yakima. Love that man...so much knowledge. KING 5 News open at the end here, 11/5/1990 - Don Porter, Jean Enersen

RE OPRAH...I would download it soon, 90% chance a strike is a'comin from Harpo. Anyways, I was able to find the first 2-3 minutes of a WGN Bozo Show from 1994 recently. It's just the opening greeting and the start of a skit...no 'grand prize game', no bucket #6. Not easy to find these! It would have been just months before WGN pulled the plug on morning cartoons and moved Bozo to Sundays. https://archive.org/details/capture-a-4676

WQAD Nightside open 1995, found on a YT channel that mostly had family home movies WQAD clip 1998 KWQC news from 1997

Thanksgiving was yesterday, but I forgot to post this. Most of 'America's Thanksgiving Parade' from 1995, hosted by Mort Crim and Carmen Harlan from WDIV Detroit along with guest host *Tim Allen*! It was syndicated to a bunch of stations, and this was taped off Fox 28, KAYU Spokane.

Classic clips from KING 5 in Seattle. Two from 1993 and one from January 1999.

25 years ago, a devastating ice storm hit the Inland Northwest and eastern Washington. I had a bunch of clips posted on the old account before YouTube shut it down. And they are back - 25 years later: lots of KREM (Charles Rowe, current Mayor Nadine Woodward), KHQ (Randy Shaw, Debra Wilde) and KXLY (various anchors including Mark Wright) to share.

Scott Stovall on KNDO in 2006 before he went to KIMA and then KEPR. and Renee McCullough on KAPP in February 1997, also includes the open to Nightline

And now a flashback to growing up north of Seattle: KIRO 7 Eyewitness News at 11, taped 2/2/2003. Wayne Havrelly is one of the anchors. And a little bit of Up to the Minute from later that night, with Bonnie Behrend filling in for Melissa McDermott

I've got one of those Proud as a Peacock ID bumpers for KNDO buried on tape in one of my tubs. It was the full promotional campaign jingle with KNDO references. There was a spectacular 1982 find made from Great Falls on one of those Beta tapes. I will get to it soon...

Here's some promos from The Disney Channel at the end of their pay-TV days. I *love* that Magical World of Disney montage they used in the waning days before the Zoog package. Stunning graphics and great jingle. Some years later, they went to junky "sitcoms" and shoving Raven-Symone up our butts. Ugh, what they have done to this magical network. OT: In my mailbox this afternoon should be a dozen Betamax tapes from Great Falls, Montana that I just purchased on Saturday via eBay (quick USPS shipping!) They are all L-250s, the 500s and 750s got away from me (and the 500s had vintage MTV on at least one tape). The 250s are smaller tapes at the 1 hour or 1 1/2 hour speed depending on Beta-II or Beta-III, so I might still find some good stuff. Tapes are vintage early '80s Sears and TDK Super Avilyn stock which literally sings to me. I am hoping it's local recordings from Montana, but with the nature of Californians migrating to ID/MT, it could be from that state too...

Great to see some rare stuff from KGWC and KGWN here. That newscast I recently found from KGWC is probably one of the rarest news finds I've ever made in the years I've been collecting off-air VHS recordings. And if I can find it, I have another partial newscast from 1993 to post soon. Talk about small town TV quality. In addition, I am spying an eBay VHS lot from Missoula that has, according to the seller, recordings from both Montana and Phoenix AZ on the tapes. But I am not sure if I will grab it because of the excess surplus of tapes I still have. I added about 11 new tapes from an estate sale 2 weeks ago in Sunnyside, 30 mi SE of Yakima. I was able to find a 1986 KIMA NewsBeat clip that I will post soon.

A couple of KAPP/KVEW Northwest Now opens, taped 5/14 and 5/1/96, off KAPP-35. Dana Cowley is the Yakima anchor with Kevin Shaub and Tyffani Peters doing Northwest Now from KVEW. Also some KABC Eyewitness News clips from August 1984, at the end of the LA Summer Olympics.

Did they air on any UPN, WB, or IND stations that likely didn't have a news department? Or Fox stations? I'm not sure when the Fox network started relaying Fox News Channel to all their stations on 9/11...was it when the 2nd tower got hit?
-
Off the satellite feed, I see. As WABC was into live coverage, I doubt this got aired on any of their affiliate stations that day. Amazing to see this.

It's the KAPP Local News Hour, taped December 2nd, 1998. Dana Cowley and Issa Arnita are the anchors: And a NEW find! About half of KNXV News 15 at 10, from February 28th, 1997, same day as the North Hollywood Shootout. If I recall, this is my first newscast find from Phoenix.

Sunday Today broadcast from November 6th, 1988 with Garrick Utley and Maria Shriver (KCRA taping) - two days before the presidential election Also, part of a KPIX Eyewitness News broadcast from 5/7/88 (B&W video and fuzzy audio) and the first 6 minutes of KIRO 7 Eyewitness News Eleven at 11, from 5/6/2007, with Amy Clancy and Essex Porter

Two more videos for this rainy Saturday (i.e., relief to douse out nearby wildfires!) KNSD News San Diego Weekend Edition, 6/30/1991 - over-the-air signal so it's fuzzy I also have the first 90 seconds of KREM News at Ten on KAYU Fox 28, taped 1/8/1992. Now-Mayor Nadine Woodward and Charles Rowe are the anchors...they were together for several years on channel 2

KIMA News at 6, 2/19/2003 (Craig Galbraith, Roxeanne Vainuku, Stu Seibel, Alan Sillence) At the end of this compilation of commercials from 2005 is another KIMA News open, when they adopted the 'NewsWatch' branding for a couple of years before switching to Action News. Most of the Fisher-type graphics stayed around, but the announcer changed. Long time KIMA announcer Joseph Litzinger (deceased in 2014) was on the first video and had done IDs and advertisements for KIMA Radio and TV since the 1960s.

I've got the whole CBSpirit campaign video on tape. CBS had a few minutes to fill at the end of a broadcast of The Dark Crystal, in August of '87, and instead of 5 minutes of promos, that image song went into the break in between the movie and the news. That was the year Jake and the Fatman and Tour of Duty went on...and the year that Tom Selleck departed Magnum P.I. The remake is nothing like the old series.

15 minutes of a July 2004 WCCO newscast: And the complete 5/20/1993 KNDO News 23 Late Edition, the night the final beer was poured at Cheers. Top story: that said finale, with Yakima-area watch parties.

Segment of KXTV's News 10 at Noon from 8/25/98, lifestyle segment on making an apple pie.

KIMA Yakima signs off early on August 29th, 1991 with a weather bulletin read by long-time meteorologist Stu Seibel and a sign-off, which includes a strange man (master control operator?) whispering 'good night' twice in the black screen... Bad quality as it was tracked wrong on the original VCR, but here's a 1992 signoff from KREM Spokane (which also includes a news update with Charles Rowe).More goodies coming as I go through tapes...
