  1. What's the situation on non-news cable networks in the UK? Gold, Comedy Central, Sky Sports, Discovery, etc.? Are they relaying BBC or a news network, ala 9/11?
  2. CBS ended coverage around 11:30 PT and went back to Y&R, already in progress. ABC and NBC still on.
  3. Univision/Telemundo has been in live coverage since 10:45 or so. I'm not sure about any of the non-news cable networks, like what happened with 9/11...any of them suspending programming and relaying CNN or another network? I don't have cable anymore. Only FM station airing coverage here in eastern WA is the news service of NWPB (NPR) relaying BBC World Service. No other local FMs suspending programming.
  4. In the UK, Absolute Radio has suspended regular programming, airing somber music instead. All BBC radio networks are in simulcasted coverage, Gold (1548 khz) is relaying LBC 97.3. Regular sports talk programming suspended on TalkSport.
  5. Not seeing coverage on my local PBS and FOX stations. Are some FOX stations taking Fox News or another feed? Same w/ PBS? Are the PBS NewsHour people on live? RIP Queen.
  6. If Fredo gets more than 50,000 viewers, I'll be shocked. I wonder where Marni would go if NN gave her the ax.
  7. Gosh, another millennium broadcast...I've been looking for Seattle or Yakima coverage for several years with no luck. I found an hour of early AM 'ABC 2000' on a VHS last year, when Asia was still going into 2000 and there was a partial KOMO 6am newscast on it. But no Pacific time celebration(s) yet. KNDO Yakima had local coverage according to the Ellensburg Daily Record, and all three Seattle stations did the same (IIRC, I believe KOMO did leave ABC 2000 behind at the PT midnight). I do have some new clips, it's been a long time since I've posted anything. KAPP 6PM 3/20/97 (open) and a KCRA lifestyle segment taped 11/2/98, from the Noon news
  8. I don't bother watching the KHQ weekend newscasts on the central WA affiliates. Who in Yakima even gives a crud about a car crash on I-90 in POST FALLS, ID?! Q6 of course never talks about Tri-Cities or Yakima when the Sat/Sun news is on. Local news was dropped on weekends shortly after COVID lockdowns began and they have never returned since. KEPR is the only 'local' news on weekends (simulcasted to KIMA). It still amazes me how over these past several years, Cowles hasn't given Monty Webb and his co-anchor 2 extra hrs. of pay on Fox 11/41 doing Wake Up Northwest instead of the KAYU Good Day Spokane show. Isn't that what a lot of stations do? KING 5 Seattle for example. News from 4:30 'til 7, then moves to their sister IND KONG 'til 9. It's been that way for nearly 20 years. Anyways, off topic. So through a change of stations, they still aren't 'live' with the east coast and WABC. Heh, it could be worse. For a blue moon circa 2003-2004, KAPP Yakima aired Regis & Kelly at 3pm!!
  9. Yakima / Tri-Cities KAPP - Already started clearing You Bet Your Life with Jay Leno yesterday at 4PM (will move to 2PM). Double run. Access Daily (9/12 11AM) KIMA-DT2 (CW) - Karamo at 10AM, We the People with Lauren Lake at 6-7PM (prime access court show? Isn't this one of Byron Allen's fake shows?) KCYU - American Housewife double-run 12:05-1:05AM, Mom goes away (gone for good from syndication??), Two and a Half Men moves to 11:35 (they were at this timeslot about 5 years ago), Mike & Molly and 2 Broke Girls leaving for good (confirmed nationwide). Pictionary double-run 10-11AM. KNDO - Sherri at 11AM replacing Wendy Williams' 'Guest Host of the Day'. NBC News Daily will be cleared and not preempted for other syndicated shows. NBC Right Now Local News at 4 begins 9/12! First time ever that central WA has done 4PM news. Welcome to the 21st century!
  10. When people were still recording to VHS and watching on a 25-inch tube TV either on a 50-channel analog cable system or with rabbit ears. Nothing gets 30 million viewers a night anymore except for NFL Football. What will be interesting is to see if they go through with this and how many stations add local news at 10 vs. syndicated shows. Will the ratings match up to Fox/netlet stations that have news? In my market, the NBC actually produces the 10:00 news for Fox, but only weeknights - weekends is a straight simulcast from Spokane (3 hrs away) on both Fox (from KAYU) and NBC (from KHQ-TV). Meanwhile, in small and medium markets, the local revenue is drying up. Anyone can look up the news on their phones and most people 25-54 aren't watching TV news at all. On cable, while Fox News holds the fort at #1, only 1/3 of those viewers are under 55. How long before we see a purge of affiliates going defunct for good? Late 2020s? Early 2030s? Once the revenue dries up, the stations in market #160 can't keep broadcasting. Maybe even #100.
  11. Both are new overall. KIMA News Weekend Edition, New Year's Day 2006, with a younger Lisa Van Cise before she went to KING-5 and NWCN (Rick's daughter) An early appearance of Dana Cowley in the first couple minutes of KAPP 35's 11:00 Report, taped 1/16/1989 And a repeat posting from the old account: KBCI Idaho 2 News 10 at 10, 9/26/2002.
  12. All they need to do is give WGN's Tom Skilling the chief meteorologist slot. Boom, problem solved. Heck, they might gain a few viewers from their superstation days.
  13. I doubt it. Y&R is #1 and B&B is popular in Europe. Can't see them going any time soon. However, I think General Hospital could be in trouble in the next couple of years. They've lost many LONG-TIME stars over the past few years (Anthony Geary, Steve Burton over vaccines, etc.) but Y&R seems stable for now. Meanwhile, central WA gains Jennifer Hudson on KAPP/KVEW. Either 2pm or 4pm (replacing The Doctors or Good Dish). Also, KAPP gains Friends reruns (!?) at 11:05 PM which moves Jimmy Kimmel a half-hour later to the normal 11:35 PT timeslot. JKL aired at 11:05 for years, since ABC swapped Nightline. KAPP only airs a 2.5 min. news update and about 3 min. of commercials at 11PM. No word on Pictionary, Sherri (probably replacing Wendy Williams on KNDO), Karamo, The Neighborhood, American Housewife, iCrime, etc...
  14. Their viewership will drop in the 65+ demographic that often watches soaps. With inflation, streaming services will continue to increase prices. But I doubt it lasts more than a year on Peacock. The hourglass is running out and the little old ladies will run to General Hospital with open arms at the 1:00 PT timeslot. Also, more national news, like what we need on OTA TV during the daytime.
  15. Start of a KTPX (now KWES) Odessa/Midland newscast from 1991...it is rare to find Permian Basin clips on YT
  16. Morning in America with Adrienne Bankert isn't even on that list! LOL! The WGN Morning News would have higher ratings at this point.
  17. Harry Caray and Bob Bell are rolling in their graves. In fact, they might get better ratings if they give Bozo an hour-long talk show. Where's Joey D'Auria? The whole network is a circus, no pun intended, and an insult to what WGN used to be as a cable superstation. When reruns of a particular Tom Selleck program beat Dan Abrams and Fredo, they are in deep trouble. I can't see too many people returning to Chris Cuomo, tainted from his brother's COVID nursing home death and sexual scandals.
  18. NEW finds...About eight minutes of KOMO News 4 at 11, taped 2/1/93 with Dan Lewis and the late Kathi Goertzen Also a KING 5 News open at the end of this from 3/19/90...interesting theme that must have been short-lived. Ed O'Brian is the v/o - not Joe Michaels or NBC promo announcer Danny Dark who did work for KING in the early '90s.
  19. Interestingly, Donahue episodes seem to be 'safe' on YouTube as of 2022...some episodes have been up for nearly 10 years.
  20. Too bad that the late David Downs' legacy has been wiped from YouTube. That is why I've been on the fence on posting any 'Price' episodes as I now know Pluto has a 'channel' with both Barker and Carey-era episodes.
  21. KAPP/KVEW in central WA will take Jennifer Hudson. My guess? 4:00 replacing The Good Dish. They also need to find something to replace The (lone) Doctor.....I meant "s" in the 2:00 hour. What a shell of its own self after Travis and the others were ditched at the start of COVID. And Dr. Ordon looks and sounds tired. Good freakin' riddance. That seals the deal for KNDO to find something else in the 4:00 hour when the Ellen repeats run out in early September. NBC Right Now Local News at 4?
  22. KIMA News at 11 (5/17/2000) a previous upload before the channel(s) went down last March. I'm still around, but haven't spent time digitizing as much as I should...too many other priorities including a move back to Yakima last week. Many 100s of tapes are in storage right now.
  23. Treats...some from old re-uploads, some new KING 5 News at 5, 2/17/94 CNN covers the annular eclipse on May 30th, 1984, includes some Take Two clips Most of The World Today on CNN, 4/26/90, with Bernard Shaw and Catherine Crier. KIRO Eyewitness News at 11 - 2/9/88 (most) - a classic pairing of Aaron Brown pre-ABC/CNN, the late Harry Wappler and the late Wayne Cody. What a team.
  24. CNN Headline News with Gordon Graham, taped 8/15/91 (TBS)
  25. KOMO 4 News at 11 open, 4/12/99 with Dan Lewis and Margo Myers KY3 Action News from August 2nd, 1987 (KYTV Springfield MO) at end of this clip...a new find overall! Early ABC World News Now, taped 10/1/1992 with Lisa McRee and Aaron Brown. KNDO News 23 Late Edition open 11/6/91 at end of this clip (also new)
