  1. Also NBC shows SNL live in all timezones now, so showing new non-sports stuff in traditional primetime would be a problem in the western part of the country.
  2. First 6 minutes of WICZ NewsTeam 40 2/21/94 (starts at 2:58). 2 years before they switched to Fox:
  3. Another Nexstar-related dispute. Mission Broadcasting's stations have been pulled from DirecTV: https://tvanswerman.com/2022/10/21/directv-loses-26-local-stations-in-fee-fight-with-mission-broadcasting/
  4. So I noticed that WTTG decided to move up Judge Judy's 3pm hour to 2pm with TMZ Live occupying the 3pm hour. I also noticed that WDCA also aired TMZ Live at 4pm. Turns out WTTG airing TMZ Live was just a placeholder for a new 3pm show starting Monday called the DMV Zone. Here's an interview with someone in management talking about that and the 11am show that debuted last month among other things concerning the station: https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/talking-tv-wttg-keeps-upping-the-ante-with-local-news-programming/
  5. She's going to CNN as a correspondent: https://cnnpressroom.blogs.cnn.com/2022/10/14/veronica-miracle-joins-cnn-as-a-correspondent-based-in-san-francisco/#:~:text=October 14th%2C 2022-,Veronica Miracle joins CNN as a correspondent based in San,special projects and enterprise stories.
  6. A biggie would be Buffalo and Rochester not being able to watch Bills-Chiefs. Meanwhile, Fox and Altice have something. That includes a heavy presence in the NYC area:
  7. I chalk it up to how traffic in DC is hell (and the Metro frequently has problems). Probably the same reason why WSB still runs World News Tonight at 7.
  8. Didn't hear about this until today, but after 61 years on WRC-TV, It's Academic is moving to WETA-TV:
  9. WJLA's 75th anniversary special: Also from earlier this year, WRC-TV's 75th anniversary special:
  10. Without warning, Disney-owned channels were pulled from Dish/Sling in the middle of the night:
  11. This article from 2019, written on the eve of the Disney merger, says it is worth something to Fox: https://deadline.com/2019/02/mynetworktv-10-years-after-strategic-pivot-is-a-quiet-but-steady-engine-for-fox-1202566142/ But in any case, this is all the end result of something hastily put together after Fox's UPN stations were shut out of the creation of the CW.
  12. Also Saturday Today moved to NBC's new DC bureau a couple of years ago.
  13. KNBC Newscenter 4 from September 18, 1980, with Pat Sajak doing weather (starts at 20:59):
  14. WCBS-TV Channel 2 News at 11 from January 22, 1986 (starts at 9:00):
  15. And he released a statement on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CisvOvMO_ME/?hl=en
  16. Another example I see is that on WXIX in Cincy (a Fox station) they only have 3 hours of syndicated programming between 4:30 AM and 7PM, followed by Wheel and Jeopardy. And KVVU (Fox in Vegas) now has only 2 hours of syndicated shows from 4AM to 7:30 PM. So yeah, I do see the endgame for the larger Grey markets is to go all-local programming during non-network time.
  17. Nope. And to think KCBS and KABC also has had weekday morning anchor turnover in the past year, and they were resolved a lot quicker.
  18. WSB started a temporary 3pm newscast this week, lasting until the midterms are over. As a result, Tamron Hall is bumped until 1:36am. And they outright admitted it's for political ad revenue: https://www.ajc.com/life/radiotvtalk-blog/wsb-tv-newscast-temporarily-pre-empts-tamron-hall-talk-show-at-3-pm-until-midterm-elections/K2M3KLB4FVHATB5U33ZICKY53M/
  19. According to this, her and meteorologist Shanna Mendiola are working 3pm Wednesday-Friday: https://www.instagram.com/p/CigMq0OvG9R/
  20. I noticed that starting next week WDCA's 9PM newscast is moving to 8:30. So between Fox and DC News Now there's news on anytime between 4PM and Midnight.
  21. On October 10th, WTIC will add an hour-long 6pm newscast: https://www.fox61.com/article/about-us/fox61-news-at-6pm-connecticut-launch/520-68233db5-6688-44b5-a568-35c2e176af5b
  22. DC: WRC: The post-Days/post-Ellen early afternoon lineup is 12pm: NBC News Now, 1pm: Access Daily, 2pm: Kelly, 3pm: Dateline. So unlike the other O&O's they didn't move Kelly to 3pm. And Days aired at 1pm. WTTG: A late-morning spinoff of local 7pm show Like It or Not airs at 11am. Then it's Sherri at 12pm and Jennifer Hudson at 1pm. Just like in Orlando, I still see Nick Cannon scheduled, staying at 2pm. Tamron Hall, which aired at 1pm, is now on at 2pm on WDCA. WJLA: The first half hour of Drew Barrymore stays at 3pm while the second half-hour is at 1:36 am. Daytime Jeopardy will air at 3:30. WUSA: No changes.
