  1. Also of interest is that unlike the Charter deal no channels were permanently removed. And DirecTV consumers will get ESPN's DTC offering for free when it launches.
  2. Also in Florida, WTSP meteorologist Natalie Ferrari has left the station and the tv business: https://www.instagram.com/p/C_lP9SFRMC9/?hl=en
  3. Well Monday Night Football is on and no deal has been reached. So it’s already worse than the Charter squabble.
  4. In DC, I mentioned elsewhere that last month WRC relegated Access Hollywood to 3:30am in favor of a 7:30pm newscast (and in the process ending the 4am half hour of News 4 Today). The only other change among the major stations is WUSA replacing Daily Blast Live with a second run of Inside Edition at 3:30. I do see that WDCA picked up Good Moning Football Overtime at noon and WDCW is airing Judy Justice at 1pm (a timeslot where there's no airing of Judge Judy reruns on WTTG/WDCA).
  5. It could also be like when Letterman/Conan did 4 shows a week when they were on after the Tonight Show.
  6. The Disney channels are officially off DirecTV:
  7. KCOP will be the home of locallly televised Anaheim Ducks games: https://www.foxla.com/news/fox-11-plus-announces-media-partnership-anaheim-ducks
  8. Not the first time Imagine was played when an NYC station was about to flip. Musicradio WABC and WPLJ played that right before they changed formats. Been reading elsewhere that WINS was getting higher demo ratings even before they went to 92.3. That and Audacy's financial issues spelled the end of WCBS 880. Here's the final minutes:
  9. Adam Krueger is the new chief meteorologist come September 3rd, having just left Houston's KIAH: https://www.nexttv.com/news/adam-krueger-named-chief-meteorologist-at-kttv-los-angeles
  10. So Nexstar collected $10.5 million in retransmission fees illegally by not telling DirecTV that WHAG/WDVM was losing NBC: https://www.nexttv.com/news/nexstar-fraudulently-collected-dollar105-million-in-fees-from-directv-appeals-court-rules
  11. I noticed it did coincide with the end of gymnastics for what it's worth.
  12. Layoffs are coming: https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/paramount-layoffs-15-percent-1236100607/
  13. Savannah, Hoda and Al are back in 1A this morning. I don't see anything different.
  14. The View will move to Disney's new Lower Manhattan complex next month. Looks like they're the first show to make the move: https://deadline.com/2024/08/the-view-season-studio-downtown-manhattan-1236030098/
  15. Gray stations in South Carolina are launching Palmetto Sports and Entertainment: https://www.wmbfnews.com/2024/08/01/palmetto-sports-entertainment-launch-statewide-gray-media-stations/ Interesting for a state with no major pro sports teams.
  16. WUSA had one at 7 until last year, when they traded that for a revival of a 4pm newscast. Like It Or Not doesn't count.
  17. A couple of changes at WRC post-Olympics. The 4 am half hour is gone, but the online-only 7:30 pm show (News 4 Rundown) moves to broadcast. That bumps Access Hollywood to 3:30am.
  18. They're being simulcast on KGO right now due to techincal difficulties over there.
  19. Norah’s being reassigned:
  20. The Detroit (and Miami) question has been answered:
  21. Bally's coming back to Xfinity:
  22. Denver mainstay Ed Greene announced his retirement, effective today: https://www.9news.com/article/news/local/9news-mornings/ed-greene-retirement-weather-9news-mornings/73-271a5c39-9f1f-4783-9ee1-f79e81f2f7b0?utm_campaign=snd-autopilot
  23. The new tv deals are official. The NBA rejected TNT: https://pr.nba.com/nba-walt-disney-company-nbcuniversal-amazon-prime-video-media-agreements/
