  1. Plus KDVR (which last I checked beat KCNC and KMGH) opts to air Jeopardy! and Wheel at 6pm Mountain rather than air a newscast.
  2. Plus WXIA already announced the same plan.
  3. Yep, it’s starting September 6th. Funny how WUSA had the 4pm news in DC for a few years in the 90s and now they’ve playing catch-up with the other major stations.
  4. Big Bang Theory reruns are moving from WDCA to WDCW starting September 4th. WDCA will fill the missing hour with Extra and the Simpsons (currently Extra airs at 9:30 AM and noon) while WDCW will air only one rerun of black-ish and The Neighborhood daily instead of two.
  5. I believe WABC considered making 9/11 memorial coverage online-only one year about a decade ago but there was enough backlash to nix that idea.
  6. So the UFO stuff has helped ratings. But obviously at a cost:
  7. Also says Brittney Bell is moving to weekday mornings to work with Sam.
  8. KFSN is now using the new weather graphics: https://abc30.com/13649871/
  9. WPTZ is adding a 4pm newscast next month: https://www.sevendaysvt.com/vermont/media-note-nbc5-adds-a-new-hour-and-a-familiar-face/Content?oid=38888947
  10. After leaving DC to go back to Seattle a few months ago, Claire Anderson will still be employed by Fox:
  11. As of next week, WUSA is moving Inside Edition to 7PM, ending it's 7PM newscast. Can't help but think a 4PM newscast is coming back to replace Dr. Phil.
  12. She's resurfacing in El Paso: https://kfoxtv.com/station/people/lizabeth-dueweke
  13. Considering that WABC and WTVD also have the same weekday schedule it's not surprising.
  14. For DC, yeah, Northern Virginia is very sprawling and people will travel that far for work (even if remote work is very prominent in the area). NBC and Fox both start at 4AM. And it's for reasons like this why all 5 LA newsrooms start at 4AM.
  15. WUSA reporter Bruce Leshan retired yesterday after 28 years there: https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/community/bruce-leshan-retires/65-b6a2d0f6-d2b9-4ece-8c12-9c04ca522da1
  16. Former KGO morning anchor Liz Kreutz has joined NBC News:
  17. Meanwhile, they're not getting the Suns back:
  18. Looks like Diamond dropped their lawsuit trying to block the Phoenix Suns from going OTA:
  19. I think these games were previously on regional sports networks (re: not on ABC/any ESPN network, including the ACC Network).
  20. Jonathan Martin, previously of KRIV, is joining WXIA: https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/jonathan-martin-joins-wxia-atlanta-as-4-p-m-anchor/ Of note is that he's anchoring a new 4PM newscast that's starting in September.
  21. WNCN NBC 17 News at 5:30 AM (7/16/99):
  22. Well just now DirecTV has indeed pulled Nexstar stations and NewsNation: https://variety.com/2023/biz/news/nexstar-directv-blackout-newsnation-contract-1235660174/
  23. Update: They've been yanked. https://variety.com/2023/biz/news/nexstar-directv-blackout-newsnation-contract-1235660174/
  24. KFSN is launching a 3PM newscast in September and will join the other California O&O's in airing World News Tonight at 3:30: https://abc30.com/abc30-live-at-3-action-news-new-show-vanessa-vasconcelos/13432962/
