Spring Rubber 703 Posted July 13, 2011 Share Posted July 13, 2011 I'm watching Fox Chicago simply because it's the only news on after the MLB All-Star game, and I couldn't help but notice that they're airing Bob Sirott's in-studio interview with Steve Stone in 16:9 SD. Is this a common practice for Fox Chicago? If so, are they seriously not willing to use up the storage required to record the segment in HD? That's pretty terrible. Yes, it looks like crap...but it serves as an exceptional metaphor for the station as a whole! Also much of their live shots/reports (especially in the mornings) have extremely crappy video quality. It's annoying to hear "in HD" at every turn, at their talent opens, etc. I think we can drop that now. My opinion is that it's not an HD newscast if you have some SD material in it.
