Nexstar sites get new look

While it looks better (and finally, a lot more upscale) than their previous design...

  1. Some parts look a bit plain, and it also feels laggy and slow
  2. The navigation bar looks a little tacky with the thin height and the lowercase letters (Silly Nexstar, you're not Media General.)
  3. Maybe the background should turn darker or something when it switches to the nighttime backgrounds (which are a pretty good idea, to be honest)

The Four Points stations still have the old layouts, though I expect them to be switched to the Sincrap style soon enough

What else do their sites need?

1. Irritating website names

2. Slow, clunky, and ultimately content-less websites

3. No visible revenue source (ads).

One thing that can be said for Sinclair's templates, they don't look like they were put together by the webmasters' child's kindergarten class. Sheesh.

Unfortunately bad websites are the least of Nexstar's problems....

The new Nexstar sites aren't great, but I've seen far worse.

If you want to seen worse than the new Nexstar sites, does anyone remember the old "CBS Now" format of the late 90s and early 2000s that CBS mandated that all it's stations use - O&O or not?

WFOR - http://web.archive.org/web/200102032203/http://wfor.cbsnow.com/

KWTX - http://web.archive.org/web/20010301204809/http://kwtx.cbsnow.com/

Now THAT was a plug ugly website format.
