Yeah. And when someone they know dies from heat exhaustion, they'll get pissed off at the station for not posting heat warnings. I'm telling you folks just bitch about every thing.

Since tonight is game 1 of the Stanley Cup final between Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins and a PDS tornado watch has been issued for parts of Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. NBC affiliate KWQC over in Davenport, Iowa decided to put a wall-to-wall coverage between the severe weather coverage and the game. The reaction is pretty mixed, yet they are pleased with the result.

WKYC in Cleveland stuck with much of the game, but when a tornado warning was issued for Cuyahoga County and Lorain County (a significant water spout formed over the lake less than five miles from Cleveland's western suburbs) they took invoked a split screen for a few minutes. Other than that, they had the severe weather bugs on the bottom of the screen whilst Betsy Kling carried on the coverage via their webstream until the "11pm" news came on... after that newscast ended, it became online-only for a few more hours.

They weren't the only ones who stay up past their bedtimes... WJW actually had live coverage with Andre Bernier and Melissa Mack from 1am to 2am (normally reserved for a replay of their 10pm news). Reporter Kevin Freeman came in at about 1:25 to read a brief recap of headlines, but otherwise, it was all weather for that hour.
