Thank You! Congratulations, 10 years, that was a long run. Did you save your masters - there are some TV production archives that preserve this sort of thing, one in Northern California for example. 3

Finally tossed the Big 2 inch masters about 10 years ago ... all I was doing was storing them ... finally had to downsize on our last move from Central California to the Bay Area ... so, I'm curious where the TV Archives "Northern California" contact you mentioned actually is ... Thanks. 1

10Viewer 362 Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 It's been confirmed that Mannheim Steamroller composed the 1979 theme that WOWT used, called "Action Spirit". The KMTV 1982 theme also sounds like it could be a Mannheim Steamroller composed piece.

Chip Davis (the contemporary material I see uses his name, not Mannheim Steamroller) also did the successor theme for WOWT, which debuted in the fall '81 season. 1
tyrannical bastard 4681 Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 One of my uploads to my YouTube page begs the question.... What music library is this theme from? This was from 2005 but looks like it was done at least 10-15 years before that. https://youtu.be/Ol0zYN7-OLg?si=wIc1-f1n1OETJ6o_&t=3464 1
tyrannical bastard 4681 Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 And another that has been stuck in my head the last 20 years.... Who did the community calendar song? I"m thinking it could be early FirstCom.... https://youtu.be/pvN_fL2fz0I?si=TgABd-eLQHmuHnnb&t=274

10Viewer 362 Posted May 31 Posted May 31 (edited) So this turned up. Two great promos from the 1980 Atlanta Emmy Awards. At about 1:02, we hear the "WSB 1980 News Theme" in all it's glory. The slogan: "It Takes 2". https://www.facebook.com/reel/887019726240271 Edited May 31 by 10Viewer
KnoxvilleTVFanDerrick 9 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Just today, I came across a rare WCMH commercial block from November 1982 and at the beginning is a portion of a promo that WCMH used featuring meteorologist Jym Ganahl who was at the statiomn during this time. But, here is something fascinating I came across. WCMH's slogan at the time was "That's What Friends Are For" which leads me to believe that this was the name of WCMH's 1983 news theme. However, I do not know who composed the theme package. You can view the video below the text to check it out. Also, you can go at 20:22 to view the Larry Roberts promo that is in this video.
