Yeah. These are nothing short of KNOCKOFFS of those graphics. Very Cheap Knockoffs!! Someone must've watched WWL.

...or WFAA since Hoak is based out of Dallas....

It's as simple as someone at corporate headquarters studying WFAA and thinking it's a good idea to impose upon KNOE.

This is why there's little originality left in television. Some "exec" sees something they like on YouTube, thinks it's a good idea, and rips it off en masse for their stations.

Your philosophy was used in a time before YouTube. The Diversified stations from the 1990s (WCJB and WABI in particular) had quite a few opens that were ripoffs of other stations' opens. In 1994 WCJB was using an open inspired by TVbD's 1984 work for WDIV, and WABI through the 90s had opens based on packages from WBZ and KCNC.

Hey, KNOE isn't the only one knocking off Belo graphics.

WTVA is not only pulling a sorta-knock off of the Belo graphics, but are also ripping off the old KVUE logo!

I think John Christopher Burns did the open. There's some WTVA stuff

. The open screams him with the way the "6:00" animates in, plus it looks like the animation demo. The rest of the package does not look like anything he'd do, though.
