2013-14 Network Fall Upfronts

I know it was a week ago and this should have been brought up while the iron was still hot, but i've wondered if any of you checked out the upcoming fall schedules from the "big 4" (don't you ever consider cw 'one' as they share the same table with my network tv, imo, only more original, but still) and which shows are you anticipating to watch soon or not much to see there? Thoughts.

From FOX, 'Gotham' looks good to me after all.

Looking at their ambitious slate of new shows, I get the feeling that the 2014-15 season is a make or break season for CBS. Their new shows could be their next generation of hits, but I also get the feeling that next season could be a repeat of Television You Can Feel minus an awful image campaign. The only shows that seem like they'll definitely be hits are, based on the success of previous spinoffs, the NCIS and CSI spinoffs. Madam Secretary, which seems like CBS's answer to Scandal and a show that will complement The Good Wife very well, is the only other one that seems to clearly have the potential to be a hit but there's also the potential of it being forced off the air by angry conservatives claiming that CBS is capitalizing on Benghazi.

CBS is screwed on the sitcom front. Yes, 'Big Bang' and even 'Two and a Half' bring in decent ratings, but none of the other comedies are able to anchor a line-up like those mentioned and "How I Met Your Mother". The other nets aren't in good shape, either, but they have less to lose.

I agree. They better hope that one of those new shows will be a hit, since 2 1/2 Men will end after this upcoming season and TBBT will not be able to carry all of CBS' primetime line up. Plus, there's only so many versions of CSI/NCIS they can put on air before it becomes over-saturated and viewers start getting bored of them.

...Especially since CSI maybe has one or two left in the tank, while NCIS could, emphasis on COULD go 5 more seasons if CBS is desperate.

NCIS is becoming an expensive show to produce, at some point CBS will plug the plug on it, not because of ratings but because of costs. It's one of the reasons why The Crazy One's was canned- in addition to soft ratings, but more on the $$$.

I assume because of actor salaries right? And cutting their salaries is also a big ass no-no I assume.

I'm hoping CBS doing football on Thursday nights isn't going to screw up things too badly. I'm still in disbelief that NBC can win a season with The Blacklist, The Voice, and SNF, while the rest of their schedule is in shambles. And in true NBC fashion, I expect The Blacklist to die a gradual and agonizing death much like what happened with the second seasons of Revolution and Smash.
