who?cares 255 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Apparently WBBH received an update as of their four pm show. Looks like the set is Devlin in fact a reporter there said "it's just like FOX Phoenix."
Samantha 2902 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 It's not a carbon copy of KSAZ (for one, KSAZ has the weather center stage right; their standup area is also different) but it's fairly close to it with backlighting and a standing desk, plus a smaller-scale videowall. That NBC 2 logo is as bland as they come.
ABC 7 Denver 1729 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Yeah. I miss their old logo. Here's a tease:
Mrtraveler01 738 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Looks like WINK is going to have to step up their game in terms of their studio. But yeah, that new logo looks too generic. And speaking of WINK they use Look F, but yet I saw this on WBBH's website. Looks like they're using Look F or at least a knockoff of it as well. So both the NBC and CBS stations in Ft. Myers are using similar looking packages. WTF? http://www.nbc-2.com/video
sanewsguy 514 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 That new logo looks so much nicer than their old one.
MidwestTV 1244 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Man...I'm just about jealous of every station that gets a Devlin set nowadays...
TexasTVNews 1378 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Devlin Design Group... You've done it again, Salute!
Mrtraveler01 738 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Here's video of NBC 2 showing off their new set. http://www.nbc-2.com/clip/10570037/nbc2-unveils-new-studio-newsroom
NEOMatrix 1307 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 My question is what is WBBH's sister WZVN going to get.
effseesee 101 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 My question is what is WBBH's sister WZVN going to get. A refrigerator box and a couple folding chairs.
hathawaynson2 39 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 A refrigerator box and a couple folding chairs. LOL! Too funny on that. I was imagining an set like KSHB's old set or a virtual set.
NewsMaster 226 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 It's not a carbon copy of KSAZ (for one, KSAZ has the weather center stage right; their standup area is also different) but it's fairly close to it with backlighting and a standing desk, plus a smaller-scale videowall. That NBC 2 logo is as bland as they come. It's FAR better than WTEV's...er, WJAX's new logo.

Weeters 1969 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 I don't know... they did such a good job ripping off Look F... It's entirely possible they designed the set in-house and just ripped off Devlin. :awesome:
Big Country News 435 Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 This is not a knock-off of Look F, if you pay attention to the opens and bumps, it's the base LF elements, just heavily edited.
Weeters 1969 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 This is not a knock-off of Look F, if you pay attention to the opens and bumps, it's the base LF elements, just heavily edited. Oops, I got things confused with WINK, which is definitely a knockoff. Disregard.
ABC 7 Denver 1729 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Oops, I got things confused with WINK, which is definitely a knockoff. Disregard. WINK uses Look F too, not a knock off!
sanewsguy 514 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 How can two stations in the same market use the same base look? Something seems peculiar...
TennTV1983 807 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 How can two stations in the same market use the same base look? Something seems peculiar... More like awkward considering WBBH uses the original Look F (with a few tweaks done to it) while WINK uses a heavily-modified derivative of the same package. They probably would've been better off using Look G or KXAS' current look instead.
Weeters 1969 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 WINK uses Look F too, not a knock off! It's a very well done knock-off. How can two stations in the same market use the same base look? Something seems peculiar... I can think of several reasons, none of them really good. Anyone who signed off on this made a mistake, I don't care how much better the real Look F looks. You're diluting your own brand by adopting a look that is virtually identical to your competition.
Mrtraveler01 738 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I'm in the Ft. Myers-Naples market on vacation and watching WINK right now and noticing how dated their studio now looks since WBBH got their brand new shiny studio. Hopefully WINK has something planned. As far as the graphics, I remember when they first came out that we commented on whether or not they were Look F or a really good knockoff of it. We also commented on how odd it was for a CBS affiliate to have them. They got this package weeks before the new CBS O&O package came out which I think would've been a good fit for WINK if WBBH had already gone with Look F. I do have some crude cellphone captures of the opens for WBBH as well as WFTX. I'll try to get some for WINK as well and post them when I get a chance.
sanewsguy 514 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 WZVN is still using their 2007 Hothaus look?
Mrtraveler01 738 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 WZVN is still using their 2007 Hothaus look? I'll check but I think so. That station is usually an after thought for me since it's basically an ABC version of WBBH. EDIT: Yes, WZVN is still using the same graphics and same set.
Big Country News 435 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 They still use TIYN for bumpers and such, but they use some terrible production music with a sloppy NBC chime/logo into it.
