tvnewsviewer99 1 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 It seems that Mike Woods is off the air again. Was out Friday and today and seems to be off/on vacation a lot. He is an important part of the GDNY show. Anyone have the back story?

He was voted New York's favorite meteorologist (or weather presenter, not sure if he's a degreed meteorologist or not). He does attract a lot of viewers, coupled with Greg & Rosanna's fantastic chemistry.

nynewslover 280 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Agreed. Seems like a nice guy. He is. They're all very nice at FOX5 I was there for one of the GDNY studio audience shows. They really interacted and talked with us off camera. Very down to earth people.

To me a good broadcast team is somebody you can not only feel you can trust but also somebody you would want to hang out with on the outside. There are too many "robotic" news/weather/sports broadcasters in this town who look like they are plucked from central casting (whether the deep voice, dark tan, plastic hair, etc). The GDNY crew does not seem to take themselves too seriously and it looks like they enjoy their work. The chemistry between Rosanna, Greg, Mike, Ines, Duke seems genuine.
