n925tv 143
Sorry to bump an old thread, but just looked and KTLA will be having a newscast for this week at 5 PM. Interesting they aren't moving the Steve Wilkos Show from the 4 PM time slot, seems with all of the election coverage it would just make sense to have news from 3 -7 PM. Probably just for the election season, but who knows. Schedule for this week is: 1 PM: KTLA News at 1 2 PM: Crime Watch Daily 3 PM: KTLA News at 3 4 PM: Steve Wilkos Show 5-7 PM: KTLA News Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/14836-ktla-adding-4-and-5-pm-newscasts/page/2/#findComment-155466 Share on other sites
Eat News 4745
Why? They have no competition at 3pm, plus they fill that void that KCAL left behind when they canned several newscasts. Come May, KNBC will be doing a 4pm newscast. Do you really think its smart to go head to head with 3 other competitors at 4, when you can have a 3pm all by yourself? If your sales people can move those 4pm (news) avails then you go for it. I honestly don't care about 3pm slots if you are telling the GSM that you can move those 4pm slots.... fan of la tv 47
It appears that KTLA will have a 5 pm newscast next week as well for the democratic convention as all the guides are showing it. Two and a Half Men has been bumped to 12:30 AM from 7 PM, also, for 4 days. Bill Cunningham has ceased production so no reason to run it. Bill Cunningham normally runs at 4 PM but instead they moved Steve Wilkos from 2 pm to 4 PM and Crime Watch Daily was downgraded to 2 PM from 5 PM, at least for these two weeks of convention coverage. Their regular schedule resumes Monday, August 1st. They will also be running their own Democrat Convention Coverage from 7 to 8 pm Monday through Thursday just like this week with the Republican Convention Coverage. It's basically a 3-hour newscast from 5 to 8 pm.
