PelicanGuy 117 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Anyone heard of them? I ask because WVUE has been running some promos quoting them saying they are New Orleans' new news leader.
Eat News 4745 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Anyone heard of them? I ask because WVUE has been running some promos quoting them saying they are New Orleans' new news leader. They are Nielsen's new competitor in the TV ratings game.
ns8401 957 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Anyone heard of them? I ask because WVUE has been running some promos quoting them saying they are New Orleans' new news leader. They are a relatively upstart competitor to Nielson... Many of the large station groups now use both companies ratings though the Nielsons get the attention still usually in releases.
mardek1995 200 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 From what I've read on some articles, Nexstar only rates with Rentrak (or, on any stations that still uses Nielsen, they rate with Rentrak more)
TennTV1983 807 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 FWIW, WMC has been relying on Rentrak ratings for the last few sweeps periods while WREG continues to get their numbers from Nielsen. Here's an article TV News Check wrote about Rentrak back in May (prior to their announced merger with ComScore): http://www.tvnewscheck.com/article/85312/rentrak-making-tv-measurement-headway
Sendir 194 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 comScore purchased Rentrak a few months ago for future cross platform measurement. Rentrak is much better at delivering accurate ratings versus Nielsen. I have used both. https://www.comscore.com/Insights/Blog/comScore-and-Rentrak-to-Merge
