WPRI / WNAC launched a new graphics package yesterday.

OPENS:

MONTAGE:

What's kinda odd is that they kept the 3D city open, but slightly updated it. It looks so similar to the old open

Interesting when you consider the "glass city" look had always been a Renderon thing, and mimicking that particular style probably wasn't easy for the designers at Linear Drift (or whatever name they are using now) to accomplish.

Other than WTMJ in its 2004 package, what other Renderon packages have used a glass city design... and I assume, sister station WIVB is one of them, since WPRI/WNAC's opens are reminiscent of the ones it uses.

I'd like to know what is up with Media General's fancy for thin & stretched out fonts... Not a big fan of them

The person at Media General who was overseeing the on-air look of all the company's stations has departed, so what we see going forward might be considerably different. (At least we can hope so.) Then there's the merger with either Nexstar or Meredith and changes that could result from that ...

The "glass city" isn't the only element held from the Renderon look. I'm surprised they carried over so many elements without a total rebuild.
