What was the logic behind San Francisco being the network hubs? If I recall CBS was there too and ABC was nonexistent.

The paper describes it was a transitional time for NBC as the network was mostly already located in L.A. for the western stuff. The building was described as a white elephant even when it was brand new in 1942.

The author really had some detailed stuff.

In those days you had cool glowy things that buzzed and hummed.
