One year later, still no chief meteorologist at WCMH

Over a year after longtime chief meteorologist Jym Ganahl's retirement, WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio has not named his successor.

A check of nbc4i.com:

David Mazza - 6:00pm, 11:00pm meteorologist

Ben Gelber - Weekend meteorologist

Tara Lane - 5:00pm, 5:30pm meteorologist

Bob Nunnally - AM and midday meteorologist

Is this a Nexstar thing or a station management thing?

I'm for giving David Mazza the chief job... he's represented the station very well at their events (i.e. Shred-it Day, Red, White & Boom!, Firefighters 4 Kids, etc.) and he's very experienced. Good delivery as well. Sidenote: the cut of Canvas used for their severe weather cut-ins sucks.

Point blank it should be Dave Mazza. The guy took over and can wear that Chief Meteorologist title well.

Tara Lane has been doing their forecasts for WNCI as of late, is she being considered for the chief job over David Mazza?

Not all Nexstar stations do that. KTAL only has three. Patrick Dennis in the mornings and during the day. Todd Warren, who is the chief meteorologist and Josh Marcisz (who is also the weekday reporter) on weekends.
