KSNB has rebranded itself. It is now known as Local4, it was previously known as NBC Nebraska. KSNB traces its roots to KHAS before Gray bought the station and moved all programming to KSNB

No open yet, but you can see the graphics in use here

The 4 is the same as one currently used at the infamous WTVY in Dothan. See the difference?

Hmmm... I wonder if KNOP (North Platte) or KNEP (Scottsbluff) will also?

I was able to catch the KNEP news when in Denver a few weeks ago (via KGWN).

It's part of a larger change to the Gray stations in Nebraska. According to staff and anchors from the station on social media, they are trying to get back to the way things were when it was KHAS. KSNB got a new station manager who is now trying to bring the station back to it's roots in the community instead of rebroadcasting the same stories at the same time every other Gray station is in Nebraska. It has disbanded the Nebraska Weather Network and all weather is in house now with the return of Tim Jones to the evening newscasts. KOLN is now referring to all it's branding as 10/11 Now and all the stations in Nebraska have branded their weather with their station graphics again instead of the Nebraska Weather Network ones that have been in use since NBC Nebraska launched in October 2014. Their new focus is the tricities (Hastings, Kearney, Grand Island) where the bulk of their viewers are, and less on Lincoln/Eastern Nebraska. even though they are the default NBC station for Lincoln.

I'm confused. KHAS was channel 5, but suddenly KSNB, which KHAS replaced, is channel 4? Was there a change at some point? I thought KHAS only changed its calls.

When did KOLN ever stop branding themselves as 10/11? I've never seen them branded as anything other but.

The Lincoln market is incredibly odd. It's technically the Lincoln-Hastings-Kearney DMA, but KOLN and KLKN (the CBS and ABC stations in Lincoln proper) focus almost exclusively on southeast Nebraska (so basically Lincoln and everywhere pointed south and east of it). Yet people as far north as South Dakota and as far west as Colorado have written to the Lincoln stations about things.

When Gray acquired Hoak, they proposed to use the Excalibur card for KHAS, since Gray already owned KOLN/KGIN and MyNet station KSNB. The Democratic FCC didn't greenlight that part of the transaction. So Gray decided to turn off KHAS and move the NBC programming to KSNB's main channel, bumping the MyNet to 4.2.

The silent signal was resold to a minority broadcaster, and it was recalled KNHL.

They continued to be branded as 10/11, but they covered the entire DMA via their sister stations and satellites. The weather was the only part that lost the 10/11 brand, assuming the brand of Nebraska Weather Network the last 3 years. Their signal reaches the entire Lincoln-Hastings-Kearney DMA and more so they've been trying to make it relevant to the people that receive their signal, even though the vast majority are in Lincoln.
