DetroitTVNews 66 Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 As first reported on another forum, it's been reported that WNEM is "broadcasting in front of a backdrop created by a local high school drama club", in other words, temporary set. This Facebook post further confirms this: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10155095831605957 Are any one of you thinking that WNEM is finally getting a new set after at least a decade?

PLEASE DO. Hopefully the new set means they’ll finally get graphics that actually fit in with their sister stations.
newsanchor26 107 Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 A WNEM source has confirmed to me that they are getting a new set but the operation is fairly hush-hush. I will try to get more information, there's a low chance he'll provide me with photos though
qunewsguy 378 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 It didn't debut at noon so my guess is the 5:00 show. I hope they get new graphics to go along with the new set.
qunewsguy 378 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Not too terrible. The set is decent for the market size (though the bezels on the TV's are distracting). They're using the newer CBS O&O graphics with a different font.
TennTV1983 807 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Here's video of the new set during construction and in action. Devlin built this.
Info Junkie 1286 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Here’s the three big questions: 1. Music Package? 2. Are they still using Jim Cutler? 3. Does the CBS O&O knockoff actually put them on par with their sister stations?
DetroitTVNews 66 Posted April 24, 2018 Author Posted April 24, 2018 1. Music Package? Probably CBS Enforcer by Gari Media.
ChrisC-R 15 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Here’s the three big questions: 1. Music Package? 2. Are they still using Jim Cutler? 3. Does the CBS O&O knockoff actually put them on par with their sister stations? To answer, Heart of the City is no more. Jim is still there and it is CBS Enforcer Series 2. Although, they could’ve done at least a different version of Enforcer(especially from the New Generation Series). With this update, it takes them up a few notches to be like WFSB. That makes me think, maybe WFSB might go that route as far as an update is concerned.
Info Junkie 1286 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Just saw their 6:00 open - yeah they did kind of hurt the O&O package a bit, but it’s better than the mess that preceded it. I’m assuming the reason they can’t get good GFX like their sisters is because WNEM isn’t broadcasting in full HD yet.

atlnews2 596 Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 They also got new graphics, butchering the CBS O&O look in the process
